Seamless collaboration between you, Flux, and other AI agents

Over the past few months, we have improved how well Flux listens, builds, and shares progress. It is now easier to brainstorm before building, work iteratively on your layout, and integrate Flux with other AI tools to keep your hardware and software development in sync.

AI Integration – Flux MCP

Flux now connects directly into the broader AI tooling stack through its public MCP server. External agents like Claude, Cursor, Devin, Codex, ChatGPT, and Notion AI can query live board context and drive hardware or PCB work programmatically.

Engineers are already connecting tools like Claude Code, ChatGPT, and Codex to Flux to design production-bound hardware, including ESP32-S3-powered designs, power management systems, and scientific instrumentation.

That means coding agents can generate firmware headers from real pin assignments and net names, or keep hardware and software in sync by detecting conflicts, asking Flux to update the schematic, and updating firmware to match.

Collaboration

Flux now asks clarifying questions before jumping into action, and provides better follow-up suggestions and progress updates while it works.

Highlights:

  • Chat mode: A faster, lower-cost way to brainstorm, explore concepts, and spec out ideas before building.
  • Steering improvements: Flux responds faster when you send messages mid-build, quickly stopping or redirecting work as needed.
  • Voice dictation: Have a complex thought to share? Built-in voice dictation lets you communicate faster and work more naturally.

Intelligence and Correctness

We updated the agent to make fewer mistakes and more thoroughly check its own work. Harness improvements, model upgrades, and more thorough checks catch issues earlier, reduce regressions, and produce more accurate outputs.

Placement and Routing

Flux has gotten significantly sharper at placement and routing. Now, when you ask for surgical layout changes, like moving a connector to one side of the board or routing an individual trace, Flux responds faster and stays more focused. When handling whole-board routing, Flux efficiently iterates toward a fully placed, manufacturable design.

Routing quality has leveled up too, featuring cleaner decoupling capacitor routing, smoother pad entry, and improved differential pair routing.

Editor UX

Flux is faster and smoother across the board, featuring quicker load times and more responsive Schematic and PCB experiences on larger projects.

Manufacturing handoff is cleaner too, thanks to refined parametric footprints, improved silkscreen text exports, stronger asset parsing, and clearer billing controls with easier in-product access to past charges.

  • Try Chat mode: Start your next project in Chat mode to brainstorm and spec out concepts.
  • Connect via MCP: If you use Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex, set up Flux MCP to pull live pins and nets into your software workflow.
  • Try routing in Flux: Ask Flux to route your entire board or just a few nets.
  • Try voice dictation: Speak a multi-step instruction out loud to see how quickly Flux builds a clean plan.
