Using AI to edit Cadence Projects

Sam builds handheld computers. After an acquisition, the team lost its OrCAD and Allegro seats. Now the MPU6050 at U57 is end of life, and the replacement must use the same I²C bus.

The problem

Sam needs the new IMU in the schematic and PCB, with its support parts and signal path in the design.

"The MPU6050 (U57) is end of life and we can't buy it anymore. Find an in-stock replacement IMU, swap it in the schematic and on the PCB, keep it on the same I2C bus, and update any support parts it needs. Then tell me what changed."

Three steps in the project

  1. Choose: Flux selected ICM-45686 for U57.
  2. Update: The schematic and PCB now show the new IMU and updated support parts. Its supply, SDA, SCL, and interrupt connections remain in the board design.
  3. Check height: The new part has 5.1 mm of reported clearance below the 6 mm lid.

The 5.1 mm measurement gives Sam a specific value for the new component. The project keeps the part change and the enclosure-height result together. Bring your next OrCAD or Allegro revision to Flux.

The replacement remains at U57 in both the OrCAD circuit and Allegro board review.
