MC33390D Part Audit

The part is identifiable as MC33390D, an NXP/Freescale SAE J1850 Class B single-wire serial transceiver in an 8-lead narrow-body SOIC packag...
Audit complete. I added the official NXP datasheet, verified all eight pin names/numbers, and confirmed the SOIC-N footprint pitch and ordering.
Key issues: the footprint is incorrectly classified as through-hole despite using SMD pads; Package, Description, pin types, and pin descriptions are missing. I filed an internal part-quality report. Full findings: MC33390D Part Audit.
Fix the remaining MC33390D audit issues using the official datasheet, including the incorrect through-hole attribute and missing package, description, pin types, and pin descriptions.
I’ll correct the part metadata and terminal definitions from the official datasheet, fix the footprint’s mounting classification, then independently re-check the finished part.
Pin metadata and part-level package/description are corrected. I’m doing the final read-back now, including confirming the footprint remains eight SMD pads with the corrected package classification.
Corrected and verified the MC33390D part:
  • Added all eight pin types and concise pin descriptions.
  • Set MPN, NXP manufacturer, official datasheet URL, 8-SOIC package, and Surface Mount.
  • Updated the part description with function, voltage range, protocol, and package.
  • Classified the footprint as 8-SOIC SMD; all eight pads are confirmed SMD with correct numbering and 1.27 mm pitch.
The imported KiCad asset still contains a stale internal (attr through_hole) text entry, but Flux’s effective part and footprint metadata now override it as surface-mount; pad geometry and manufacturing behavior are SMD.
