Part Audit Report Scope
Audit of the BPW 34 FA part project against the official ams OSRAM datasheet and product page.
Part Metadata Review Key Specifications Symbol and Pin Audit Current implementation
  • Terminal K is assigned Pin Number 1.
  • Terminal A is assigned Pin Number 2.
  • Both terminals use Pin Type: Unspecified and have no useful pin descriptions.
Datasheet-family convention
The BPW34-family pin convention is Pin 1 = Anode and Pin 2 = Cathode, with the package physically marking the catho...
Audit complete. The Datasheet URL was already populated, so no property update was needed; I verified the official ams OSRAM datasheet.
Key issues:
  • Critical: Pin numbering appears reversed—current Pin 1 = K and Pin 2 = A; expected Pin 1 = A, Pin 2 = K.
  • Footprint pitch is correct at 5.08 mm, but the body/silkscreen dimensions do not match the official 5.15 × 3.85 × 2.05 mm package.
  • Pin types/descriptions are incomplete.
  • The part is officially discontinued.
Full specifications and findings: Part Audit Report.
Correct the pin numbering, terminal descriptions, and footprint body/silkscreen geometry to match the official datasheet.
I’ll correct the terminal numbering and metadata first, then rebuild the footprint body and silkscreen to the official 5.15 × 3.85 mm package dimensions and verify the result.
Pin 1 is now the anode and Pin 2 the cathode, with passive types and datasheet-based descriptions. I’m replacing the old package outline with a 5.15 × 3.85 mm body and moving the polarity marking to the cathode side.
Corrections completed and verified:
  • Pin 1 = A, “Photodiode anode,” passive.
  • Pin 2 = K, “Photodiode cathode; package-marked lead,” passive.
  • Pad mapping is now correct at 5.08 mm pitch.
  • Body and silkscreen are corrected to 5.15 × 3.85 mm, with pad-clearance gaps and a pin-2 cathode mark.
The corrected status is recorded in the Part Audit Report. The imported footprint’s legacy filename remains unchanged, but its effective geometry is overridden correctly.
