Audit complete. The Datasheet URL was already populated, so no property update was needed; I verified the official ams OSRAM datasheet.
Key issues:
  • Critical: Pin numbering appears reversed—current Pin 1 = K and Pin 2 = A; expected Pin 1 = A, Pin 2 = K.
  • Footprint pitch is correct at 5.08 mm, but the body/silkscreen dimensions do not match the official 5.15 × 3.85 × 2.05 mm package.
  • Pin types/descriptions are incomplete.
  • The part is officially discontinued.
Full specifications and findings: Part Audit Report.
Correct the pin numbering, terminal descriptions, and footprint body/silkscreen geometry to match the official datasheet.
I’ll correct the terminal numbering and metadata first, then rebuild the footprint body and silkscreen to the official 5.15 × 3.85 mm package dimensions and verify the result.
Pin 1 is now the anode and Pin 2 the cathode, with passive types and datasheet-based descriptions. I’m replacing the old package outline with a 5.15 × 3.85 mm body and moving the polarity marking to the cathode side.
Corrections completed and verified:
  • Pin 1 = A, “Photodiode anode,” passive.
  • Pin 2 = K, “Photodiode cathode; package-marked lead,” passive.
  • Pad mapping is now correct at 5.08 mm pitch.
  • Body and silkscreen are corrected to 5.15 × 3.85 mm, with pad-clearance gaps and a pin-2 cathode mark.
The corrected status is recorded in the Part Audit Report. The imported footprint’s legacy filename remains unchanged, but its effective geometry is overridden correctly.

Symbol and Pin Audit
Current implementation
  • Terminal K is assigned Pin Number 1.
  • Terminal A is assigned Pin Number 2.
  • Both terminals use Pin Type: Unspecified and have no useful pin descriptions.
Datasheet-family convention
The BPW34-family pin convention is Pin 1 = Anode and Pin 2 = Cathode, with the package physically marking the cathode. The current symbol therefore appears polarity-reversed by pin number:
  • Current Pin 1: K — expected A
  • Current Pin 2: A — expected K
Severity: critical. Because footprint pad binding follows terminal pin numbers, this reversal can produce a board whose anode/cathode connectivity is opposite to the intended schematic polarity.

Footprint Audit
Matches
  • Two plated through-hole pads.
  • 5.08 mm lead pitch matches the official dimensional drawing.
  • 0.7 mm drills are plausibly compatible with nominal 0.50 × 0.25 mm leads.
  • Pin-1 pad is visually distinguished, which is good practice.
Mismatches / risks
  1. Pad polarity mapping follows the reversed symbol numbering. The footprint currently maps pad 1 to K and pad 2 to A; expected mapping is pad 1 to A, pad 2 to K.
  2. Footprint body geometry is mislabeled and undersized/mis-proportioned. The asset name and description state approximately 4.3 × 4.65 mm, while the official package is nominally 5.15 × 3.85 × 2.05 mm.
  3. Silkscreen/fabrication outline should be checked against the package drawing. The current outline spans approximately 4.87 × 4.52 mm in its main body representation, which does not match the official nominal 5.15 × 3.85 mm body.
  4. Lifecycle status is absent. The official product is discontinued, so the part should carry a sourcing warning and replacement review before new production use.
Correction Status — 2026-08-24
The identified symbol and footprint issues have been corrected in the part project:
  • Pin 1 is now A (photodiode anode), passive.
  • Pin 2 is now K (photodiode cathode; package-marked lead), passive.
  • Terminal descriptions, pin grouping, and deterministic terminal order were added.
  • Pad mapping now resolves as pad 1 = anode and pad 2 = cathode at 5.08 mm pitch.
  • Fabrication/body geometry is overridden to the official nominal 5.15 × 3.85 mm outline.
  • Silkscreen geometry is overridden to the same nominal body size, with clearance gaps around both through-hole pads and a cathode-side polarity mark at pin 2.
Overall Assessment
Corrected and verified. The terminal numbering, descriptions, pad mapping, body outline, and silkscreen geometry now match the official datasheet dimensions and polarity convention. The original imported footprint asset name still contains its legacy dimensional label, but the effective PCB geometry is controlled by the verified correction rules.
