Project
- Switch to PCB view (center-column “PCB” tab).
- Open Board Rules in the right-hand Inspector panel.
- Stackup (Stackup tab):
- Select the 4-layer, 1.6 mm, 1 oz template.
- Confirm Layer 1 = Signal, Layer 2 = GND (solid), Layer 3 = PWR (split), Layer 4 = Signal.
- Differential Pair Impedance (DiffPair tab):
a. Click + Add Differential Pair Class
• Name: USB_SS
• Nets: USB_SS*
• Impedance target: 90 Ω
b. Click + Add Differential Pair Class
• Name: PCIE
• Nets: PCIE*
• Impedance target: 85 Ω
c. Click + Add Differential Pair Class
• Name: MIPI_HDMI
• Nets: DSI*; HDMI*
• Impedance target: 100 Ω - Routing → Design Rules (Clearance & Width tab):
a. Under Net Classes, click + Add Net Class
• Name: Power
• Assign to nets VCC5V, VCC3V3, VCC1V8 (and any high-current nets)
• Min Width: 1 mm
b. For Default net class, set Min Width to 0.15 mm or your low-speed min. - Stitching (Stitching tab):
- Enable “Stitch GND via stitching”
- Via stitch spacing: 300 mil
- Assign to net: GND
- Corner Style (Misc tab):
- Set Angle Preference to 45° / Arcs
- Via Style (Vias tab, if available):
- Use standard via (e.g., 0.3 mm drill, 0.6 mm annular)
- Ensure no micro-vias on HS nets
- Keep-Outs:
- Outline your 160 × 120 mm board shape via the Board Outline layer.
- Add any mechanical keep-out shapes around edge connectors (USB, HDMI, FPC, TRRS).
- Synchronize: click Synchronize (top-right) to pull schematic nets.
- Lock critical footprints: select SoM & M.2 sockets → press F (Fix) so Auto-Layout won’t move them.
- Click Auto-route at the bottom-left of the PCB canvas to start routing.
After Auto-Layout finishes, run DRC to verify clearances and impedance. Let me know if any nets still violate rules so we can tweak manually.
