TPS4811 Datasheet Review

  • Make the functional group more general.
  • Add a Section property to all pins, and apply the same value used in the Pin Group property to each pin's Section property.
Assign a Terminal Order from 1 to 10, starting with Power. Power should be Terminal Order 1, and Ground should be last, Terminal Order 10. For Orientation, set Power to "Top" and Ground to "Bottom." For the remaining sections/groups, you may decide the Terminal Order and Orientation yourself. For Orientation, distribute them between "Left" and "Right" — don't put everything on one side. Each group/section should have a different orientation.
I’ll generalize the pin groups, keep Section identical to Pin Group on every terminal, and assign terminal order/orientation with Power first/top and Ground last/bottom while distributing the other groups left/right.
Updated the terminal metadata to broad groups: Power, Input, Output, No Connect, and Ground. I’m doing a quick verification that Section matches Pin Group everywhere and that Power/Ground order/orientation are correct.
Done. I generalized the pin groups to Power, Input, Output, No Connect, and Ground, and verified every pin’s Section exactly matches its Pin Group.
Power is Terminal Order 1 / Top; Ground is Terminal Order 10 / Bottom; Inputs are Order 2 / Left; Outputs are Order 3 / Right; N.C is Order 9 / Left.

Footprint Cross-Check
The footprint asset is named TPS48110AQDGXRQ1.kicad_mod and its description is DGX0019A.
Observed footprint characteristics from the KiCad footprint payload:
  • SMD VSSOP-style footprint.
  • Pads present: 1-15 and 17-20. Pad 16 is intentionally absent.
  • Pad size: 0.300 mm x 1.450 mm.
  • Pin pitch: 0.500 mm.
  • Pad row x-offset: +/-2.200 mm, matching a 4.4 mm pad span.
  • Fab body outline: 3.0 mm x 5.1 mm.
  • Pin-1 indicator present near pad 1.
Datasheet land pattern states 20X pad size 0.3 mm x 1.45 mm, 18X 0.5 mm pitch, and 4.4 mm pad span for DGX0019A. The footprint geometry matches the datasheet land pattern, with the expected omitted pin 16 for the 19-pin device.
Mismatches / Issues to Fix
  1. Package or Case Code is wrong: project property is TO; datasheet value is DGX (VSSOP, 19). Recommended property value: DGX or VSSOP-19 (DGX) depending on library convention.
  2. Description wording is misleading: current description describes a smart high-side power switch and includes internal-switch-like claims such as 4 A continuous current and 10 mOhm RDS(on). The datasheet device is a high-side driver for external MOSFETs, not an integrated high-side switch.
  3. Datasheet source could be improved: Datasheet URL is present, but it points to a stored PDF copy. If preferred, replace it with the official TI URL https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps4811-q1.pdf.
  4. Pin groups use application-specific names: broad groups were intentionally used and set anyway, but Flux emitted autocomplete warnings because some group names are not in the default suggestion list. This is not an electrical mismatch.
