Datasheet Review

/adrian95/ba2032sm
Library part footprint is unusable: all six THN 15-2411WIR pads are at (0,0) with computed size 0.0016 mm and no explicit footprint rules. Datasheet expects a 1 in x 1 in through-hole module with six Ø1.0 mm pins on nonuniform coordinates.
I checked the datasheet and looks like you made a false claim, check it again
You’re right to challenge it. I’ll re-check both the linked library part and the official mechanical drawing directly, separating the raw footprint source from Flux’s computed display values before correcting my conclusion.
The linked URL is a BA2032SM two-pad battery-holder part, not the THN converter. I’m now checking the actual THN project and the datasheet drawing; the earlier “all pads at (0,0)” statement already appears to be a unit/rendering misread.
You are correct—my prior claim was false.
  • The THN footprint pads are not at (0,0). The raw footprint contains six distinct coordinates ranging from ±2.54 mm to ±10.16 mm.
  • The computed values such as 0.0018 and 0.01016 are stored in metres, despite the confusing unit: mm display. They correspond to 1.8 mm pads and 10.16 mm positions, not microscopic geometry.
  • The footprint already defines through-hole pads, 1.8 mm pad diameter, and 1.2 mm drills.
  • Most importantly, the datasheet specifies Ø1.0 mm pins, but it does not recommend Ø1.5 mm PCB holes. My claim that 1.5 mm was datasheet-specified was incorrect.
  • The verified package size is 1.0 × 1.0 × 0.4 inches, with ±0.5 mm general tolerance and ±0.25 mm pin-pitch tolerance.
  • The URL you supplied points to a separate BA2032SM two-pad battery-holder part, not the THN converter.
The project has since been reverted, so my unsupported 1.5 mm drill and 2.5 mm pad changes are no longer present. The original 1.2 mm drill / 1.8 mm pad geometry is reasonable for Ø1.0 mm pins and should not have been changed based on the datasheet.
