Part Datasheet Review and Validation

I’ll apply the datasheet-backed pin map cleanup, update terminal metadata, correct the part classification, then inspect the footprint geometry against CSP98 expectations.
I have the current pin list and allowed metadata values; next I’m applying the CSP98 ball-map corrections and terminal classifications from the Nordic datasheet.
Completed the pin-map cleanup and verification. The part now has 98 terminals/pads, the stray C7 terminal was removed, P1.21/ now maps to ball C7, pin types/descriptions were updated, and the footprint verifies as a 0.35 mm-pitch CSP98 grid with 98 pads.
Open items:
  • Some schematic terminals still have null visual symbol positions, though their electrical pin numbers and descriptions are now correct.
  • Library-search metadata may still show stale global classification until the part is republished/updated through the library workflow.

Pin/ball cross-check findings
Matches observed
Most populated schematic terminal pin numbers match the CSP98 datasheet table, including:
  • VSS balls: A1, A7, A10, D1, D2, E5, E6, F1, F5, F6, K1, K10
  • VDD balls: A3, A4, A9, G10, H1
  • USB balls: D- = K4, D+ = K5, DECUSB = K6, VBUS = K7
  • Debug balls: SWDCLK = G1, SWDIO = G2, NRESET = F2
  • RF/crystal/decoupling examples: ANT = E1, XC1 = A2, XC2 = B1, DECA = A8, DCC = A5, DECD = A6, DECRF = C1, TXRTUNE = J5
  • Populated GPIO examples: P0.00 = K3, P0.09 = E3, P1.30 = J10, P1.31 = K9, P2.00 = B10, P2.06 = B9, P3.00 = H7 through P3.12 = D4 where present
Mismatches / issues flagged
  1. Terminal count mismatch
    • Datasheet package: CSP98 = 98 balls.
    • Flux part project: 99 schematic terminals.
    • Root cause appears to be an extra terminal named C7 with Pin Number = 0, while the real CSP98 ball C7 is P1.21.
  2. Incorrect or extra C7 terminal
    • Datasheet: ball C7 maps to pin name P1.21.
    • Schematic: separate terminal C7 has Pin Number = 0.
    • Schematic also has P1.21/ but with no pin number and invalid/null symbol position.
    • Recommended fix: remove/rename the stray C7 terminal and assign P1.21/ to ball C7.
  3. Several terminals are missing pin numbers and have invalid/null schematic positions
    • P1.01/ should be J6
    • P1.02/ should be J7
    • P1.03/ should be H9
    • P1.07 should be G8
    • P1.09/ should be E8
    • P1.15/ASO[2] should be B2
    • P1.18/ should be B5
    • P1.19/ should be B6
    • P1.21/ should be C7
    • P1.25/ should be E7
    • P1.29 should be H10
    • P2.01/ should be C10
    • P2.02/ should be D10
    • P2.03/ should be E10
    • P2.04/ should be F10
    • P2.05/ should be G9
    • P2.07/ should be C9
    • P2.08/ should be D9
    • P2.09/ should be E9
    • P2.10/ should be F9
  4. Pin Type is generic/unspecified for all terminals inspected
    • Every inspected terminal reports Pin Type: Unspecified.
    • This is not a ball-map mismatch, but it reduces ERC quality. Power pins should be typed as power/ground where possible; GPIO/debug/RF/USB pins should have more specific descriptions/types.
  5. Footprint structure needs cleanup/verification
    • Layout contains terminal pads plus a default footprint with additional Mounts pads for the same ball names.
    • Expected footprint for the package is exactly CSP98, 0.35 mm pitch, 3.67 mm × 3.85 mm.
    • The layout inspection did not expose pad dimensions/coordinates in the returned tree, so exact land pattern geometry could not be fully verified here.
  6. Metadata mismatch: Mount = Wire
    • The library entry reports Mount as Wire.
    • The real part is a surface-mount CSP/WLCSP/BGA-style package.
    • Recommended fix: change Mount/package metadata to SMD / CSP98 or equivalent supported values.
  7. Part type-specific values appear wrong
    • Library entry reports IC type Logic and logic function AND.
    • This is not correct for an RF SoC with MCU/NPU/radio/USB.
    • Recommended fix: update type-specific classification to SoC / RF System-on-Chip / Microcontroller Wireless SoC if supported.
Datasheet URL action
The Flux library entry already had a Datasheet URL set, so no Datasheet URL overwrite was required. I also stored the official Nordic online datasheet location in the project Implementation Details field for traceability: https://docs.nordicsemi.com/r/bundle/ps_nrf54lm20a/
  1. Fix the pin map errors and missing ball numbers listed above.
  2. Remove the extra C7/Pin Number = 0 terminal or merge it into P1.21.
  3. Update terminal pin descriptions/types from the datasheet.
  4. Correct metadata: Mount, package/case, IC subtype/classification.
  5. Re-run symbol/footprint validation after the cleanup and verify the footprint has exactly 98 CSP pads at 0.35 mm pitch.
