Schematic Component Verification

Check the schematic component against the datasheet for [MPN]. Assign the correct pin orientation, section, and terminal order for each pin. Place Power pins first and GND pins last. For every section, distribute the pins logically and as evenly as possible between the Left and Right sides of the symbol, so the schematic symbol is balanced and easy to read. Apply the changes directly to the schematic component.
Got it — I’ll include symbol cleanup in the same review: verify against the datasheet, then directly update pin orientation/sections/order with power pins first and grounds last.
I found the official ADI public datasheet and updated the project-level Datasheet URL; ADI’s public PDF is only a summary and says full pin details require NDA, so I’m using the public ADI article/figure plus the existing 49-bump footprint for pin verification and will flag that limitation.

Completed the MAX86178 review and applied the symbol metadata updates directly: datasheet URL, manufacturer/type/package metadata, pin descriptions, pin types, sections, orientations, terminal order, and balanced symbol positions for all 49 terminals.
Open items:
  • ADI’s public datasheet does not include the full bump map or detailed pin table; final production verification requires the NDA datasheet or ADI-authorized CAD model.
  • Footprint A1 orientation, D/E axis mapping, and exact land pattern still need NDA/source verification.

MAX86178 Datasheet Review
Scope
Reviewed the MAX86178 part project metadata, 49 schematic terminals, footprint pad count, available project properties, and public datasheet sources. Updated the part/project metadata and schematic terminal properties directly in Flux.
Datasheet and source status
  • Official public datasheet URL set: https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/max86178.pdf
  • Manufacturer: Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated
  • MPN reviewed: MAX86178
  • Public datasheet revision observed: Rev. 4 public summary
  • Important limitation: the public ADI PDF is a short summary and states that additional product information requires an NDA. It does not include the complete bump map, full pin description table, absolute maximum ratings, or recommended operating conditions.

Pin assignment table used for the Flux symbol
The public official datasheet does not expose the full bump table. The following table matches the existing project terminals and public block/article information where available, but must be checked against the NDA datasheet or ADI-authorized CAD model before production release.

Footprint review
  • Project has 49 PCB pad nodes, matching the 49 terminals and 7 x 7 WLP package concept.
  • Footprint text includes 21-100520_N492A2+1_MXM, which appears consistent with the MAX86178 package-outline family noted in public sources.
  • A1/row/column orientation and exact pad land pattern were not fully verifiable from the public ADI datasheet. Treat these as production-release checks against the NDA datasheet or ADI-authorized CAD/land-pattern file.
Mismatches and caveats

Table

SeverityFindingStatus / action
HighPublic official ADI datasheet does not include the complete pin table, absolute maximum ratings, or recommended operating conditions.Flagged. Full verification requires NDA datasheet or ADI support.
HighA1-G7 bump-to-signal assignments cannot be independently confirmed from public official ADI documentation.Existing pin map is plausible and applied, but must be checked before PCB release.
MediumPackage terminology can be misread: 7 x 7 means bump array, not 7 mm x 7 mm body.Metadata set to 49-WLP; body size noted as 2.77 mm x 2.57 mm.
MediumFootprint pad geometry, pitch, D/E axis orientation, and A1 marker require official land-pattern verification.49 pads present; exact geometry not certified from public summary.
LowNo mismatch found between terminal count, broad function groups, and public feature summary.OK within public-source limits.
Recommendation before release
Obtain the NDA MAX86178 datasheet or ADI-authorized CAD model and verify: complete bump map, pin electrical types, supply voltage limits, abs max ratings, land pattern dimensions, A1 orientation, and row/column mapping before manufacturing.
