Part Audit Review

Review all available part information (MPN, package, pin count, description, properties). If no datasheet URL is already set, search the web for the official datasheet and update the part's Datasheet property with the URL. Then cross-check the schematic symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions against the datasheet. Summarize key specs and flag any mismatches.
I’ll audit the part metadata, locate the official datasheet if needed, update the Datasheet property, then verify the symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions against it.

Part Audit Report Part identity and current metadata Ordering-code interpretation
  • HFD2: subminiature DIP signal relay family.
  • 003: 3 VDC nominal coil voltage.
  • No contact-material suffix: standard AgPd movable / Ag + gold-plated stationary contact combination per the ordering table.
  • S: sensitive coil.
  • L2: two-coil latching construction.
  • Contact arrangement: 2 Form C (DPDT changeover).
Key datasheet specifications Datasheet pinout and functional behavior
The datasheet shows the two-coil latching relay in the reset state:
  • Set coil: energize pin 1 relative to pin 16.
  • Reset coil: energize pin 2 relative to pin 15.
  • Pole 1 contacts: COM pin 4, NC pin 6, NO pin 8.
Audit complete. The footprint geometry and all 10 physical pin numbers match the official Hongfa datasheet; the existing Datasheet property already points to an official Hongfa page, so it was not changed.
Flagged issues: misleading coil suffixes (actual winding pairs are 1–16 set and 2–15 reset), missing pin descriptions, unspecified pin types, and overly generic package/description metadata. Full specifications and comparisons are in the Part Audit Report.

Datasheet pinout and functional behavior
The datasheet shows the two-coil latching relay in the reset state:
  • Set coil: energize pin 1 relative to pin 16.
  • Reset coil: energize pin 2 relative to pin 15.
  • Pole 1 contacts: COM pin 4, NC pin 6, NO pin 8.
  • Pole 2 contacts: COM pin 13, NC pin 11, NO pin 9.
Populated physical pin numbers are: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16.
Symbol review
Correct
  • The symbol exposes all 10 populated pins.
  • Contact mappings match the datasheet: 4/6/8 and 13/11/9.
  • Coil terminal numbers match the required physical pins: 1, 2, 15, and 16.
  • The part is represented as a DPDT relay with two coil windings.
Mismatches and quality issues
  1. Coil suffixes are misleading. Current names pair COIL+_1 with pin 1 and COIL-_1 with pin 15, while the actual set winding is pins 1–16. Likewise, the actual reset winding is pins 2–15. The pin numbers are correct, but the _1 / _2 naming suggests the wrong winding pairs.
    • Recommended naming: SET+ pin 1, RESET+ pin 2, RESET- pin 15, SET- pin 16; alternatively COIL_SET_A/B and COIL_RESET_A/B.
  2. Pin descriptions are absent. The terminal records do not contain explicit descriptions such as “Set coil positive,” “Pole 1 common,” or “Normally closed contact.”
  3. All pin types are Unspecified. Coil pins should be passive; relay contact pins should also normally be passive. This is mainly an ERC/library-quality deficiency rather than a pinout error.
  4. The symbol’s latching state should be clearly documented. The datasheet contact diagram is shown in the reset state. The existing terminal mapping is compatible, but the symbol metadata does not state this.
Footprint review
Correct
  • Ten through-hole pads are present at pins 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 16.
  • Pad coordinates match a 2.54 mm grid with 7.62 mm row spacing.
  • The footprint body outline is 20.2 mm × 10.2 mm, matching the datasheet nominal dimensions.
  • Drill size is 1.0 mm, matching the datasheet recommended PCB layout.
  • Pin 1 uses a rectangular pad and an orientation mark is present.
Minor concerns
  • The package property only says DIP; a more descriptive package value such as DIP-16, 10 populated, 20.2x10.2mm, 7.62mm row spacing would reduce ambiguity.
  • The footprint description string contains HFD2/003-S-L2-3; the extra -3 is not part of the audited MPN and may be a harmless asset-description artifact, but it should be checked.
Overall result
The physical pin numbers and footprint geometry are consistent with the official Hongfa datasheet, and no footprint correction is required. The main issues are metadata quality: misleading coil-winding suffixes, missing pin descriptions, unspecified electrical pin types, and an overly generic package/description. The existing Datasheet property was already populated with an official Hongfa product-page URL, so no Datasheet property update was made.
