EVA-M8M Pin Review

Check this schematic component against the datasheet for [MPN] and assign the correct pin orientation, section, and terminal order without changing, replacing, renumbering, or remapping any pins. Place Power pins first and Ground pins last. Within each section, distribute the pins between the left and right sides as evenly as possible; for example, split 10 pins as 5/5 and 11 pins as 5/6 or 6/5. If a section contains only one pin, leave it on one side as appropriate. Keep the symbol compact and balanced. If a pin function is unclear, assign Unclear / Check datasheet, then apply all changes directly to the schematic component.
I’ll rebalance the existing pin organization so every section is split left/right as evenly as possible, while preserving all 43 pin names and numbers exactly.
Updated the EVA-M8M-0 schematic component directly. All 43 existing pins are still present with the same pin numbers/names; I changed only Section, Pin Group, Pin Orientation, and Terminal Order.
Open items:
  • No unclear pins were found against the datasheet, so no pins were assigned Unclear / Check datasheet.
  • Pin Type / Pin Description fields remain unchanged because this request was only for orientation, section, and order.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Visually inspect the regenerated symbol for compactness.
  2. Populate datasheet-backed Pin Type and Pin Description metadata.
  3. Clean up the remaining part metadata issues noted in the validation report.

Note: the layout inspector prints some computed numeric values in SI-scaled form, while the embedded KiCad footprint asset is in mm and contains the expected 3.150 mm, 3.500 mm, 0.300 mm, 0.400 mm, and 0.500 mm values.
Mismatches / issues flagged
  1. Description sensitivity appears wrong for EVA-M8M-0. The library/project description says -167dBm, but the datasheet reports EVA-M8M tracking/navigation sensitivity as -164 dBm for GPS+GLONASS/GPS. The -167 dBm figure belongs to EVA-M8Q GPS+GLONASS, not EVA-M8M.
  2. Pin Type metadata is incomplete. Every terminal currently has Pin Type: Unspecified; the datasheet provides I/O directions for each pin.
  3. Pin Description metadata is missing. Terminal-level Pin Description properties are not populated with datasheet descriptions/remarks.
  4. Package / Case Code is not set in indexed project properties. Recommended value: LGA43 or 43LGA.
  5. Operating Voltage and Operating Temperature properties are not set in indexed project properties. Datasheet-backed values are available: VCC/VCC_IO 1.65–3.6 V, VDD_USB 3.0–3.6 V, V_BCKP 1.4–3.6 V, operating temperature -40 °C to +85 °C.
  6. Manufacturer classification is inconsistent. The explicit Manufacturer Name property is u-blox, but the library manufacturer facet is Other.
  7. Part subtype / IC function classification is wrong. Library reports subtype/values like Logic and logicFunction: AND, which do not describe a GNSS receiver module.
  8. Footprint description text says 42-TFLGA. The actual pad count and geometry match LGA43, but the descriptive string should be corrected to LGA43.
  9. Product lifecycle should be reviewed for new designs. The u-blox product page reports the EVA-M8 series as no longer available, even though the datasheet is current and production-information status is present.
Overall result
