AK4493SEQ Part Audit

I’ll audit the part metadata, source the official AK4493SEQ datasheet if needed, update the Datasheet property, then compare the symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions and document any mismatches.
The part project stores its 48 pins as terminal objects, so I’m paging through the complete terminal set and footprint geometry rather than relying on a normal single-component view.

AK4493SEQ Part Audit

View Document

Reviewed all available part metadata, the 48-terminal schematic symbol, PCB footprint/pads, 3D-model linkage, and the existing official data...
Audit complete. The official AKM datasheet URL was already set, so no property update was needed; the 48-pin symbol mapping and LQFP footprint are consistent with the datasheet.
Key issues: all pins lack descriptions and use Pin Type: Unspecified, the explicit package property is missing, and the 125 dB description should clarify it applies at 2.7 Vrms. Full findings are in AK4493SEQ Part Audit.

Project description“Audio D/A Converter ICs Premium DAC Gen3+ 32bit 768kHz 125dB 2ch DSD SCDF”32-bit, 768 kHz PCM, DSD512, 2 channels; S/N depends on output conditionMostly correct; 125 dB needs qualification
Key specifications
  • Stereo, differential-output, premium audio DAC with VELVETSOUND technology.
  • 32-bit PCM input, up to 768 kHz sampling.
  • DSD support up to DSD512; EXDF mode is also supported.
  • S/N: 123 dB at 2 Vrms, 125 dB at 2.7 Vrms, and 128 dB in specified mono-mode conditions.
  • THD+N: -115 dB at 2 Vrms; -110 dB at 2.7 Vrms.
  • Analog channel supplies VDDL/VDDR: 4.75 to 5.25 V.
  • AVDD and TVDD: 3.0 to 3.6 V when the internal LDO is enabled; datasheet conditions vary when LDOE is low.
  • DVDD: 1.7 to 1.98 V input when LDOE is low, or internal LDO output when LDOE is high.
  • Operating temperature: -40 to +85 °C.
  • Package: 48-pin LQFP, 7 x 7 mm body, 9 x 9 mm overall lead span, 0.50 mm pitch, 1.60 mm maximum height.
  • Production status in the reviewed product information: MP; Pb-free, halogen-free, MSL2.
Symbol and pinout cross-check
All 48 pin numbers map to the correct datasheet functions and occur in the correct physical sequence around the package. Multiplexed pin names are represented correctly for PCM, DSD, EXDF, pin-control, SPI-like register control, and I2C modes.
Naming observations
  • Pin 14 is named I2C/INV in the symbol, while the datasheet commonly presents INV/I2C. This is a cosmetic ordering difference, not a connectivity error.
  • Repeated physical pins are made unique with suffixes such as VREFHR_1 and VREFHR_2. This is appropriate for tool uniqueness, although the datasheet uses the same base pin name for both pins.
  • NC pins use NC_1, NC_2, and NC_3; their numbers correctly map to pins 24, 37, and 43.
Pin metadata mismatch
All terminals currently have Pin Type: Unspecified, and no datasheet-derived Pin Description properties were found. This is the largest symbol-quality gap.
Recommended electrical classifications:
  • Inputs: PDN, BICK/DCLK/BCK, SDATA/DSDL/DINL, LRCK/DSDR/DINR, SSLOW/WCK, SMUTE/CSN, SD/CCLK/SCL, DIF2/CAD0, PSN, I2C/INV, DEM0, LDOE, ACKS/CAD1, TESTE, VREFHR/LR/HL/LL pins, MCLK.
  • Bidirectional or mode-dependent: SLOW/CDTI/SDA, DIF0/DZFL, DIF1/DZFR.
  • Outputs: AOUTRP, AOUTRN, AOUTLN, AOUTLP; DVDD is mode-dependent power input/LDO output.
  • Power: DVDD, VDDR pins, VDDL pins, AVDD, TVDD.
  • Ground: VSSR pins, VSSL pins, AVSS, DVSS.
  • Passive / special: VCMR, VCML, and NC pins.
Important descriptions currently absent from the symbol include:
  • PDN must assert reset during power-up.
  • DVDD changes between a 1.8 V input and internal LDO output depending on LDOE; when it is an output, only the specified capacitor may be connected.
  • VCMR and VCML require 10 uF capacitors to the corresponding low-reference pins and must not drive other loads.
  • NC pins are not internally bonded but the datasheet instructs connection to GND.
  • TESTE has an internal pull-down; PSN and LDOE have internal pull-ups; DIF0/DZFL and DIF1/DZFR have mode-dependent pull-down/output behavior.
  • All other digital inputs must not be left floating.
Footprint cross-check
The footprint has 48 pads and uses the expected standard LQFP numbering sequence:
  • Pins 1-12 on the left side from top to bottom.
  • Pins 13-24 on the bottom from left to right.
  • Pins 25-36 on the right from bottom to top.
  • Pins 37-48 on the top from right to left.
Observed geometry is consistent with the package:
  • 0.50 mm pad pitch.
  • Pad centers approximately 4.238 mm from package center, consistent with a 9 mm overall lead span.
  • Rectangular copper pads approximately 0.30 x 1.475 mm.
  • Footprint filename identifies a 0.50 mm pitch, 9 x 9 mm overall, 1.60 mm high, 48-pin QFP.
No pad-count, pitch, side-order, or pin-to-pad mapping mismatch was found. The datasheet provides component lead dimensions rather than a clearly authoritative recommended PCB land pattern in the extracted material, so the exact 0.30 x 1.475 mm land dimensions should be treated as an IPC-style footprint implementation rather than directly datasheet-specified geometry.
3D model
The AK4493SEQ.stp model is linked at the footprint origin with unit scale and no rotation. No metadata evidence indicates a model offset or rotation mismatch. Visual/mechanical dimensional validation of the STEP body was not available from the indexed numerical model properties.
Significant
  1. Missing pin descriptions: all 48 terminals should receive concise datasheet-derived Pin Description metadata.
  2. Unspecified pin electrical types: every terminal is currently Unspecified, reducing ERC usefulness and hiding input/output/power behavior.
  3. Missing explicit package property: add Package or Case Code = 48-LQFP (7x7), 0.50 mm pitch or the closest accepted canonical form.
Minor
  1. Description qualification: “125dB” is only true under the 2.7 Vrms S/N condition; the standard 2 Vrms figure is 123 dB. The description should state the condition or use “up to 125 dB stereo S/N.”
  2. Pin 14 label ordering: I2C/INV versus datasheet INV/I2C is cosmetic only.
  3. Part type is broad: “Integrated Circuit” is valid but “Audio DAC” would improve search/BOM clarity if supported by the property taxonomy.
Overall assessment
The core identity, official datasheet link, pin count, pin numbering, multiplexed pin names, footprint pitch, package envelope, and symbol-to-pad mapping are correct. The part is electrically usable, but its metadata quality is incomplete: pin descriptions and electrical types should be populated before relying on ERC or automated design review, and the package should be explicitly recorded as a property.
