Part Audit Review

Review all available part information (MPN, package, pin count, description, properties). If no datasheet URL is already set, search the web for the official datasheet and update the part's Datasheet property with the URL. Then cross-check the schematic symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions against the datasheet. Summarize key specs and flag any mismatches.
I’ll audit the part metadata, locate the official datasheet if needed, update the Datasheet property, and verify the symbol, footprint, and pin definitions against the manufacturer documentation.

Part Audit Report Identification and available metadata Official source and variant ambiguity
WE-HCI 1050 is available in multiple electrically different order codes. The family sheet lists 1050 variants spanning approximately:
  • Inductance: 0.16 µH to 16 µH
  • Rated current: 5 A to 25 A
  • Saturation current: 6.5 A to 58 A
  • DC resistance: 0.51 mΩ to 35.5 mΩ
Therefore no single inductance, current rating, DCR, tolerance, or exact product datasheet can be assigned until the numeric Würth order code is known.
Schematic symbol audit
Completed the audit and added the official Würth WE-HCI family datasheet. The symbol and 1050 land pattern match, but WE-HCI_1050 is a family/package label—not an orderable MPN—so exact inductance, current, DCR, and temperature specifications remain unresolved.

Official source and variant ambiguity
WE-HCI 1050 is available in multiple electrically different order codes. The family sheet lists 1050 variants spanning approximately:
  • Inductance: 0.16 µH to 16 µH
  • Rated current: 5 A to 25 A
  • Saturation current: 6.5 A to 58 A
  • DC resistance: 0.51 mΩ to 35.5 mΩ
Therefore no single inductance, current rating, DCR, tolerance, or exact product datasheet can be assigned until the numeric Würth order code is known.
Schematic symbol audit
  • Two terminals are present, numbered 1 and 2.
  • Both terminals are typed Passive, which is correct.
  • The symbol is symmetric and suitable for a non-polarized inductor.
  • Pin descriptions are currently absent. Recommended descriptions: Inductor terminal 1 and Inductor terminal 2.
  • Terminal records internally use a P prefix because they are terminal primitives; the part-level prefix is L. This is not an electrical pinout error, but the indexed metadata can look inconsistent.
Footprint audit
The source KiCad footprint contains:
  • Pad 1 at (-3.825 mm, 0)
  • Pad 2 at (+3.825 mm, 0)
  • Both pads rectangular, 3.85 mm × 4.00 mm
  • Center-to-center pad spacing: 7.65 mm
  • F.Cu/F.Mask/F.Paste layers, 0.102 mm solder-mask margin
  • Silkscreen nominal outline: 10.4 mm × 10.4 mm, open beside the pads
The official Würth 1050 land-pattern data gives 4.0 mm, 3.85 mm, and 3.8 mm key dimensions. The footprint's 3.85 mm × 4.0 mm pads and 7.65 mm spacing match that recommended land pattern.
Footprint issues
  1. No courtyard is defined.
  2. No explicit fabrication outline is defined.
  3. The KiCad footprint asset contains no 3D model reference, although a separate STEP asset is indexed in the part project.
  4. Direct layout inspection displayed pad positions/sizes 1000× smaller than the KiCad source (0.003825 and 0.00385 mm). The source footprint is clearly authored in the correct millimetre values; this appears to be an inspection/import unit-reporting inconsistency and should be checked in the rendered PCB before release.
Overall result
  • Symbol pin count and passive pin types: pass
  • Footprint land pattern: pass against official 1050 family dimensions
  • Exact electrical identity: fail / unresolved because the MPN is a family label rather than a numeric order code
  • Description and pin descriptions: incomplete
  • Manufacturing documentation: usable pad geometry, but courtyard and fab outline are missing
Required resolution
Replace WE-HCI_1050 in Manufacturer Part Number with the exact Würth numeric order code. After that, attach that order code's official individual datasheet and populate inductance, tolerance, rated current, saturation current, DCR, and temperature range from the selected datasheet.
