Reading Relay Part Audit's report…
Received notification from "Relay Part Audit" that it finished — picking the work back up.
The audit is complete; I’m reconciling its findings against the live part data and independently verifying the reported symbol and footprint mismatches before closing.
Audit reconciled and independently verified against Finder’s official S45EN datasheet. The existing datasheet URL was retained because it was already populated.
Key issues: pin 14 is incorrectly named COM_2 instead of NO, symbol graphics/types/descriptions are incomplete, and footprint drills are 1.7 mm versus the specified Ø1.5 mm. Pin numbering and 25 × 7.5 mm spacing are correct. I also filed a part-quality report.

Extract key relay specificationsCompletedElectrical, timing, life, environmental, mechanical, ordering-code, terminal, and PCB-layout data extracted below.
Symbol cross-checkCompletedTerminal numbers match, but terminal naming/types/descriptions and relay graphics have actionable deficiencies.
Footprint cross-checkCompletedPin pattern and pitch match; drill diameter and documentation/outline issues are noted below.
Authoritative evidence
The official PDF is titled “45 Series — Miniature PCB Relays + Faston 250, 10–16 A.” The current edition inspected has eight PDF pages (the last is blank), with footer revisions I-2026 on the principal data pages and V-2025 on the final technical page. The exact code is covered by the ordering system on printed page 5 and by the Type 45.31…0310 specification on printed page 3.
Ordering-code validation
From the Finder ordering table (official PDF, printed page 5):

Table

Code segmentMeaningValidation
45Series 45Confirmed
.31PCB-mount, 1-pole 16 A Type 45.31Confirmed
.7Sensitive DC coilConfirmed
.02424 VDC nominal coilConfirmed
.0Standard AgNi contact material for 45.31Confirmed
3Normally-open SPST contact circuitConfirmed

Project name45.31.7.024.0310Confirmed exact MPN
DescriptionSP-NO PCB Mount Non-Latching Relay Tab, 24V dcBroadly correct; “SP-NO” means SPST-NO/1NO. “Tab” is potentially misleading because Type 45.31 is the PCB-terminal version; the family also includes Faston types.
Manufacturer Part Number45.31.7.024.0310Confirmed
Manufacturer NameFINDERConfirmed; preferred styling is Finder/Finder S.p.A.
Part TypeElectromechanical ComponentsFunctionally reasonable but generic
MountPCBBroadly correct; more precise classification is through-hole PCB mount
Designator PrefixKAppropriate relay prefix
Symbol Styleparametric-v1Present; produces a generic rectangular parametric body rather than a relay-function graphic
Datasheet URLhttp://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/7495130Present and exact-MPN product page, but not manufacturer-hosted PDF and uses HTTP
Package or Case CodeMissingNo package/case property is exposed
Electrical/mechanical propertiesMissingNo stored coil voltage/resistance/power, contact rating, temperature, dimensions, or life fields were found
Library-index metadata mismatch
The searchable library record exposes contradictory classification metadata: top-level part_type = Integrated Circuits, part_sub_type = Logic, manufacturer facet Other, and type-specific logicFunction = AND, while its explicit properties say Finder and Electromechanical Components. This is an actionable metadata mismatch because it can impair search, filtering, and automated review. It was not edited, per scope.
BOM and connectivity
  • BOM items: 0 (expected for a standalone part project).
  • Nets: 0 (expected for terminal authoring in a part project).
  • Terminals/pads: 4.
Key specifications from the official Finder datasheet
Unless noted otherwise, specifications are from the Type 45.31…0310 column on printed page 3; ordering information is printed page 5; coil and outline data are printed page 7.

Symbol graphic
  • The terminal count and numbers A1, A2, 11, and 14 match the datasheet.
  • The current parametric-v1 rendered symbol does not depict a relay coil and an open normally-open contact. The inspected SVG is a generic rounded rectangular body with pin labels only.
  • No clear mechanical linkage/dashed association between coil and contact is shown.
  • Pin descriptions are absent and all Pin Types are Unspecified; relay coil and dry contacts should normally be represented as passive terminals for ERC unless the project has another deliberate convention.
  • A1/A2 polarity is not indicated, which is acceptable for the unsuppressed basic relay coil; the datasheet does not identify an internal polarity-sensitive diode for this ordering code.
Actionable symbol corrections (not applied): rename pin 11 to COM, pin 14 to NO; add descriptions; set suitable passive pin types; replace/repair the graphic to show a coil between A1/A2 and an open 11–14 NO contact.
PCB footprint audit
Current raw footprint geometry
  • Four circular plated through-holes.
  • Pad centers in the raw KiCad footprint, copper-side orientation:
    • A1: (0, 0) mm
    • A2: (0, −7.5) mm
    • 14: (25, 0) mm
    • 11: (25, −7.5) mm
  • Pad diameter: 2.5 mm.
  • Drill diameter: 1.7 mm.
  • Fab/silk rectangle: 31.4 × 12.5 mm, from x = −2.7…28.7, y = −10…2.5.
  • Courtyard in the raw asset: 35.35 × 14.5 mm, from x = −5.6…29.75, y = −11…3.5.
  • A STEP model 45.31.7.024.0310.stp is attached at zero offset/rotation and unit scale.

Active silk/courtyard renderingImported Silk Shapes node is disabled by an override; no separately identifiable active courtyard node in the inspected treeBody and spacing should remain visible/documentedActionable implementation issue
The pin pitch and numbering are the most safety-critical mechanical facts and they match. The 1.7 mm drill versus the official 1.5 mm PCB hole is the primary dimensional mismatch. A larger hole may ease insertion but reduces annular ring and should be deliberately justified rather than silently differing from the manufacturer drawing.
Confirmed matches, mismatches, and gaps
Confirmed matches
  • Exact MPN and Finder manufacturer.
  • 24 V sensitive DC, non-latching 1NO/SPST-NO relay family.
  • Four terminals/pads with numbers A1, A2, 11, 14.
  • Footprint pin mapping and 25 mm × 7.5 mm pitch.
  • Through-hole PCB mounting and broad 31.4 mm × 12.5 mm envelope.
  • Relay designator prefix K.
Actionable mismatches
  1. Library-index classification incorrectly identifies the part as an integrated logic IC/AND gate and manufacturer Other.
  2. Symbol terminal 14 is named COM_2, but it is the normally-open terminal.
  3. Symbol does not clearly depict a coil and NO contact; pin types and descriptions are missing.
  4. Footprint drill is 1.7 mm while the official PCB drawing calls out 1.5 mm.
  5. Active silkscreen/courtyard representation is unclear/disabled, and the courtyard does not clearly enforce Finder’s ≥5 mm relay spacing recommendation.
Missing metadata
  • Package/case code.
  • Precise mount classification (Through Hole).
  • Coil voltage, resistance/current/power, operating/drop-out range.
  • Contact form/material/ratings.
  • Timing, life, temperature, insulation, sealing, and dimensions.
  • Terminal descriptions and explicit electrical types.
Cannot be fully verified
  • 2.5 mm pad outer diameter: Finder’s drawing specifies hole/terminal geometry but not a recommended copper land diameter.
  • Numerical size, seating, and orientation accuracy of the attached STEP model.
  • Detailed body protrusion geometry because the current fab outline is a simplified rectangular envelope.
Change log
No part property, terminal, symbol, or footprint data was changed by this audit. The existing Datasheet URL was retained because the request authorized a Datasheet URL update only when the property was missing. A concurrent project edit set Symbol Style to parametric-v1; the final symbol findings above were re-checked against that current state. This audit report is the only project file added by this audit.
