Date: 2026-07-21 Reviewed available part information for project silicon-yard/2187: metadata, schematic symbol terminals, PCB footprint, 3D/...
Reviewed the Adafruit 2187 part information and created the full findings in Part Verification Report — Adafruit 2187. The Datasheet URL was already set, so I did not change it.
Open items:
  • MPN is currently Adafruit SKU 2187; the drawing/spec identifier appears to be CS25582-40G-M36-0A.
  • Symbol has 40 pins but no pin descriptions or Raspberry Pi HAT function labels.
  • Footprint looks broadly correct, but pad row spacing / pad length should be manually confirmed from the official drawing before production.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Add/clean metadata for the underlying connector MPN.
  2. Add Raspberry Pi 40-pin header pin descriptions.
  3. Confirm the SMT land pattern visually against the Adafruit spec sheet before manufacturing.

Mismatches / risks flagged
  1. MPN metadata may be a SKU rather than the underlying connector MPN. The project uses 2187, which is Adafruit’s product ID. The official spec sheet/drawing is labeled CS25582-40G-M36-0A / CS25582 family. If BOM procurement expects the actual connector manufacturer's part number, add it as an alternate or substitute MPN while keeping Adafruit 2187 as the vendor SKU.
  2. Datasheet URL was already set. No mutation was required by the user’s condition. The URL in the project uses + encoding for spaces; the canonical Adafruit link uses %20%281%29. Datasheet extraction worked, so the current URL appears usable.
  3. Symbol lacks helpful pin descriptions. This is electrically acceptable for a generic passive connector, but because the product is for Raspberry Pi HATs, users would benefit from Raspberry Pi 40-pin header function labels.
  4. Pin Type is Unspecified for all terminals. For ERC quality, a passive/connector pin type would be preferable if Flux supports it for terminals.
  5. Footprint row spacing / pad length should be manually confirmed from the image drawing before production. The 2.54 mm X pitch, 40 pads, and Ø1.2 mm NPTH holes look correct; however, OCR did not unambiguously prove the ±3.10 mm pad-row offset or 2.10 mm pad length.
  6. Mechanical holes are represented as pads 41/42. They appear to be NPTH/mechanical features in the KiCad footprint. Ensure they do not become electrical terminals/nets in downstream export.
Conclusion
The part is broadly consistent with the official Adafruit 2187 / CS25582-40G-M36-0A documentation: 40 SMT connector pads, 2.54 mm pitch, correct 48.26 mm row span, and Ø1.2 mm mechanical holes are present. No critical electrical pin-count mismatch was found. The main recommended improvements are metadata cleanup, pin-description enhancement for Raspberry Pi HAT use, and manual confirmation of the SMT land-pattern row spacing/pad length from the drawing image before manufacturing release.
