Open the New Component Editor:
- In the left column’s library panel, click on the option to create a new component.
- You’ll be prompted to enter basic details such as the part name and description.
Fill in Component Details:
- Give your component a clear name (for example, “Water Pressure Sensor”).
- Add a description summarizing its function and list key specifications.
- Attach the datasheet by adding the URL (in your case, use the provided Water_Pressure_Sensor_Spec_Sheet.pdf) so that all relevant technical information is referenced directly within the component.
Create the Custom Schematic Symbol:
- Launch the schematic symbol editor within the custom component editor.
- Design a simple symbol that reflects your sensor’s functionality.
- Add the necessary pins (e.g., a power pin, ground, and any signal outputs required by the datasheet).
- Label each pin exactly as per your datasheet specifications.
Design the PCB Footprint:
- Open the footprint editor to create the mechanical layout.
- Define pad sizes, spacing, and overall dimensions as specified in the sensor’s datasheet.
- Incorporate any mechanical details or mounting holes if necessary.
- Ensure that the footprint is correctly scaled to meet manufacturing requirements.
(Optional) Add a 3D Model:
- If you have a 3D representation of your sensor, you can link or import it here.
- This step is optional but can help visualize the part on your PCB.
