I’m blocked before starting because this session has no remaining execution credits, so I cannot add components, wire the schematic, create the PCB layout, run checks, or generate manufacturing files.
Current project state:
Project is still empty.
Components: 0
Nets: 0
No schematic, PCB layout, BOM, or Gerbers have been created yet.
What remains to be done when credits are available:
Rename the draft project and create a project specification for the heart-shaped LED chaser.
Build the schematic with:
ICM7555 CMOS timer astable oscillator
Two 74HC4017 decade counters cascaded for 20 LED outputs
20 through-hole 5mm red LEDs
Two 10-channel 150 Ω SIP resistor arrays
100 kΩ speed potentiometer
10 µF timing capacitor
Three 100 nF decoupling capacitors
Power switch
JST-PH 2-pin Li-ion battery connector
Verify datasheet requirements for the ICM7555 and 74HC4017 at single-cell Li-ion voltage.
Confirm the cascade/reset logic for exactly 20 clockwise chase steps.
Run schematic review/ERC and fix all issues.
Create the 70 mm × 70 mm 2-layer PCB.
Place the 20 LEDs in a symmetrical heart outline around the perimeter.
Place the two 74HC4017 ICs in the center and the ICM7555 below them.
Route the board with wide battery/power traces and hand-solder-friendly through-hole spacing.
Add silkscreen labels, LED polarity markings, and battery polarity markings.
Run layout/DRC review and fix violations.
Generate BOM and Gerber-ready manufacturing outputs.
One design note for the next run: because the design is powered directly from a Li-ion cell, the LED current will vary with battery voltage. With 150 Ω resistors and red LEDs, current will be modest and suitable for low-power decorative use, but it should still be checked against the LED forward voltage and 74HC4017 output current capability before finalizing.
Wirelessly connects nets on schematic. Used to organize schematics and separate functional blocks. To wirelessly connect net portals, give them same designator. #portal
