ESP32 LCSC Part Verification

I found the part is for Espressif ESP32-C3-MINI-1-H4, apparently from LCSC C2935306.
Issues found
  1. Extra symbol terminals 54–61
    • Datasheet defines the module as 53 pins total.
    • Valid GND pins are 1, 2, 11, 14, 36–53.
    • The project appears to also include GND terminals 54–61, which are not in the datasheet pin table.
    • Recommended fix: remove pins 54–61 unless they intentionally represent extra footprint-only exposed/thermal pads. If they are footprint-only pads, document them clearly and ensure they are not exposed as normal schematic pins.
  2. Symbol pin electrical types are too generic
    • All terminals appear to use Pin Type: Unspecified.
    • Datasheet defines:
      • 3V3 as power supply
      • GND as power
      • EN as input
      • GPIO/UART pins as I/O/T
      • NC pins as no-connect
    • Recommended fix: set proper electrical pin metadata for ERC quality:
      • 3V3: Power input
      • GND: Ground / power
      • EN: Input
      • IOx, RXD0, TXD0: Bidirectional / tri-state where supported
      • NC: No-connect / excluded terminal
  3. Key metadata appears incomplete
    • MPN and LCSC number were inferable but not clearly present as standalone metadata.
    • Recommended fix: explicitly add:
      • Manufacturer: Espressif Systems
      • MPN: ESP32-C3-MINI-1-H4
      • LCSC Part Number: C2935306
      • Lifecycle note: NRND per current Espressif datasheet
      • Flash: 4 MB Quad SPI
      • Operating temp: –40 °C to +105 °C
      • Supply: 3.0–3.6 V, 3.3 V nominal
      • Required supply current capability: ≥ 0.5 A
  4. Footprint/pad mapping could not be fully verified from accessible data
    • The footprint asset exists as ESP32C3MINI1H4.kicad_mod, but the current project context did not expose a full pad-by-pad coordinate/pin map.
    • Datasheet land pattern expects the ESP32-C3-MINI-1 53-pin module pattern, including antenna keepout and multiple GND pads.
    • Recommended fix: manually verify the footprint pad numbers against datasheet pins 1–53, especially:
      • Pin 1 orientation
      • 3V3 = pad 3
      • EN = pad 8
      • IO18/IO19 = pads 26/27 for USB D−/D+
      • RXD0/TXD0 = pads 30/31
      • GND pads 36–53
      • No pads numbered 54–61 unless intentionally added as non-symbol mechanical/ground pads
  5. Documentation should mention ESP32-C3 boot strapping
    • Important pins: GPIO2, GPIO8, GPIO9
    • GPIO9 has weak pull-up and is commonly used for BOOT.
    • GPIO8/GPIO9 combinations matter for USB/JTAG download.
    • Recommended fix: add usage notes warning designers not to load strapping pins incorrectly at reset.
Overall assessment
The core symbol pin list 1–53 mostly matches the Espressif datasheet, but the part project needs cleanup before I’d consider it production-quality: remove or justify pins 54–61, improve terminal electrical types, add explicit manufacturer/MPN/LCSC metadata, document NRND status, and verify the KiCad footprint pad map directly against the datasheet land pattern.
Fix part metadata
Verify footprint pads
Remove extra pins
Add boot notes
Run part review
