Part Information Audit and Review

Fixed the BQ24074RGTT terminal metadata from the TI datasheet.
Updated all 17 terminals with datasheet-derived Pin Type and Pin Description, including standard pin types for IN, OUT, BAT, VSS, EP, open-drain status outputs, and programming/control pins. Verification passed, and the terminal-related part review checks returned no reported issues.
Please also convert the symbol to parametric style,and place each pin into the correct section based on the datasheet.

I assigned each pin to a datasheet-based section and orientation: power-path pins to Power, VSS/EP to Ground, TS to Analog, and control/programming/status pins to Control. I also set terminal order by datasheet pin number and verified the updates; terminal/parametric review checks returned no reported issues.

Observed footprint details:
  • 16 perimeter SMD pads on 0.50 mm pitch.

Status Output / Control Notes
  • CHG and PGOOD are open-drain outputs and require pull-up resistors or LED pull-up paths in an application schematic.
  • EN1 and EN2 select input current limit:
    • EN2=0, EN1=0: USB100, 100 mA max input current.
    • EN2=0, EN1=1: USB500, 500 mA max input current.
    • EN2=1, EN1=0: resistor-programmed ILIM.
    • EN2=1, EN1=1: standby / USB suspend.
  • CE is active low; high disables charging while OUT remains active and supplement mode remains available.
Required External Components in an Application
The part symbol and footprint are library primitives, not a complete charger application. Designs using this part should include:
  • IN bypass capacitor: 1 uF to 10 uF from IN to VSS.
  • BAT bypass capacitor: 4.7 uF to 47 uF from BAT to VSS.
  • OUT bypass capacitor: 4.7 uF to 47 uF from OUT to VSS.
  • ISET resistor to VSS, 590 ohm to 8.9 k, otherwise charging is disabled.
  • ILIM resistor to VSS, 1.1 k to 8 k when using EN2=1 / EN1=0; leaving ILIM open disables all charging.
  • TS connection to 10 k NTC in the battery pack, or 10 k fixed resistor from TS to VSS if unused.
  • Pull-ups or LED paths for CHG and PGOOD if status indication is used.
  • VSS and EP both connected to board ground, with adequate copper/thermal vias for heat spreading.
Mismatches / Issues Found
  1. No symbol pin-number mismatch found. All 17 project terminals match the BQ24074 RGT datasheet pin names and numbers.
  2. No footprint pad-count mismatch found. The footprint has 16 perimeter pads plus exposed pad 17, matching the datasheet package.
  3. No footprint package-size mismatch found. The footprint is a 3 mm x 3 mm, 0.50 mm pitch VQFN with 1.7 mm exposed pad, consistent with the package naming and datasheet package family.
  4. Pin electrical/type metadata is incomplete. Every terminal currently has Pin Type: Unspecified; the datasheet defines power, ground, input, output, and bidirectional/power-stage behavior. This may reduce ERC usefulness.
  5. Terminal descriptions are incomplete. Project terminals do not currently carry the datasheet functional descriptions; adding pin descriptions would improve review quality.
Recommendation
The symbol and footprint are usable for BQ24074RGTT. The main improvement is metadata hygiene: update terminal pin types and descriptions to match the datasheet so automated checks and downstream users get correct electrical intent.
