Guitar Pedalboard Power Supply Design

Work Completed
  • Updated project description with detailed functional goals and hashtags (#pedalpower, #rechargeable, #9V1A, #USB-C, #centrenegative).
  • Defined the system architecture and saved a mermaid diagram.
  • Added key power components:
    • B1 (18650 battery holder)
    • U1 (battery protection IC)
    • U2 (USB-C/DC-jack charger controller)
    • U3 (9 V boost converter)
Tasks Remaining
  • Add other active components:
  • Add supporting passives (decoupling capacitors, LC filter inductor/capacitor, current-sense resistors, reverse-polarity diodes).
  • Add four center-negative barrel output connectors with overcurrent and reverse-polarity protection.
  • Complete net connections and run ERC.
  • Prepare PCB layout: verify footprints, set 1590B/1590BB outline, configure stackup, place mounting holes.
  • Define layout rules, place components, and route nets.
  • Perform DRC and manufacturability review.
Success Criteria Review
  • Regulated 9 V @ 1 A output: not yet implemented
  • Four protected barrel outputs: not yet added
  • Main switch, LED indicators, enclosure fit: pending
Recommended Next Step Add the remaining active components (USB-C connector, barrel jack, power switch, and LEDs) to the schematic to complete the power-path architecture before moving on to passives and connectivity.
