I’m blocked from executing project changes because this session has no remaining execution credits, so I could not add components or wire the schematic in Flux.
Nothing has been modified yet: the project is still empty with 0 components and 0 nets.
Recommended design plan when execution is available:
Rename/document the project as a WiFi ultrasonic water flow meter.
Use USB-C 5 V input with CC pull-downs, ESD protection, fuse/current limiting, and input protection.
Add a 5 V to 12 V boost converter sized for the external RS485 ultrasonic flow sensor.
Add a 3.3 V regulator for the ESP32 and logic circuitry.
Use an ESP32 module with EN/reset network, boot/programming UART header, decoupling, and antenna keepout.
Add an RS485 transceiver between the ESP32 UART and external ultrasonic flow sensor.
Add a sensor connector carrying 12 V, GND, RS485 A/B, and optional shield/chassis connection.
Add LEDs for power, WiFi/status, and flow activity with current-limiting resistors.
Verify all IC wiring against datasheets, calculate power budget, run schematic review, then create bring-up and firmware notes.
One important requirement needs correction before schematic capture: the spec says “3.3 V regulator for powering the ESP32 and sensor,” but the ultrasonic sensor is specified as 12 V powered. The design should include both a 12 V rail for the sensor and a 3.3 V rail for the ESP32/RS485 logic.
Wirelessly connects nets on schematic. Used to organize schematics and separate functional blocks. To wirelessly connect net portals, give them same designator. #portal
