When U4 reaches a count of 9 and subsequently receives a pulse, it resets to 0 and sends out a pulse from its CARRY_OUT pin. This pulse can trigger the CLOCK input of another CD4026B, allowing for the creation of multi-digit counters.
  • CLOCK_INHIBIT (pin 2): This pin is used to disable the CLOCK input when high. It's useful for stopping the count without resetting the current value stored in the counter.
  • DISPLAY_ENABLE_IN and DISPLAY_ENABLE_OUT (pins 3 and 4): These allow for the enabling or disabling of the 7-segment display output. DISPLAY_ENABLE_OUT can drive the DISPLAY_ENABLE_IN of another device for synchronizing multiple displays.
  • RESET (pin 15): This pin, when taken high, resets the count to 0.
  • Power Supply (pins 8 and 16): VSS is connected to ground, and VDD is connected to the positive supply voltage.
