Choose RTC Integration Approach
- Decide on using an integrated RTC IC (e.g., DS3231, known for its 3.3V compatibility) rather than an external module to maintain a compact design.

Add Supporting Circuitry for the RTC
- Place the chosen RTC IC and, if applicable, its 32.768 kHz crystal.
- Add local decoupling capacitors (100 nF and 10 µF) near the RTC IC.
- Include a battery holder for CR2032/CR1220 to provide backup power to the RTC.
- Place and connect I2C pull-up resistors (4.7k) for SDA and SCL if establishing a new I2C bus.

Connect the RTC to the ESP32‑CAM
- Connect the RTC SDA and SCL lines to the ESP32‑CAM IO13 and IO14, respectively.
- Connect the RTC VBAT pin to the battery holder.
- Optionally connect the RTC INT/SQW output to an available GPIO (suggest IO15) if using alarm/square wave functionalities.

Verify Power and Layout Integration
- Ensure the RTC circuit is powered by the +3V3 supply (Net 16) generated by the AMS1117-3.3 (U1).
- Run ERC/DRC to confirm correct net connections and component placements.
- Verify availability of footprints for the RTC IC, capacitors, and battery holder.

- A fully integrated RTC circuit is added to the project with all necessary supporting components.
- The RTC SDA and SCL are correctly wired to IO13/IO14, and the backup battery setup is implemented.
- ERC/DRC checks pass with no connectivity or design errors.
