Plan

#Goal

Update the existing 2S-only HPA FCU schematic for electrical precision and production-readiness. This includes completing the NB680 buck external network, correcting EN/ENCLK wiring, ensuring proper Schmitt trigger net segregation, adding a PG pullup and testpoint, and retaining DNP optional clamp/shunt with clear annotations. After modifications, the schematic will be validated with an ERC review.

#Implementation plan

Power Subsystem and NB680 External Network
1. Rebuild the NB680 buck support network per datasheet guidelines:
  1. Add a 1.5 µH inductor, VIN and VOUT bulk caps (22 µF each), BST cap (100 nF), and VCC/LDO decoupling caps (4.7 µF and 1 µF).
  2. Ensure proper AGND and PGND routing and separation.
EN/ENCLK Wiring Correction
1. Disconnect EN/ENCLK pins from VBAT.
2. Reconfigure wiring to respect the NB680 recommended absolute maximum ratings (-0.3 V to +4.5 V) ensuring deterministic always-on operation.
Trigger Schmitt Buffer Correction
1. Separate net connections:
  1. Connect TRIG_RAW to TRIG_FILT.
  2. Route TRIG_FILT to the Schmitt buffer input.
  3. Connect the Schmitt buffer output (denoted as TRIG_BUF, U3 output) to the MCU GPIO.
PG Pullup and Testpoint Implementation
1. Add a PG pullup resistor and designate a testpoint for the PG signal.
2. Clearly label the PG pullup and associated testpoint on the schematic.
Optional Clamp/Shunt Handling
1. Leave the fast clamp (D4) and shunt (R8) as DNP.
2. Add clear documentation and notes on the schematic to indicate these as optional components.
ERC Validation
1. Run the ERC to validate design changes and ensure compliance with production guidelines.
