#Goal

Populate the existing Portable LoRaWAN board into a fully realized LoRaWAN CO2 sensor product. The design will target 10-year battery life while maintaining the ultra-low power performance through optimal component selection, power gating, and energy management.

#Implementation plan

Define Power & Battery Life Conditions
1. Analyze battery consumption to meet 10-year operation by establishing measurement intervals, sleep cycles, and transmission duty cycles.
2. Optimize power management by reviewing and updating gating strategies on sensor and MCU control lines.
Validate and Finalize Core Components
1. Confirm retention of key components: LoRa-E5 module (U1), SCD41 CO2 sensor (U5), NH2D0245 power IC (U2), TPS7A0533 regulator (U4), AP22916 load switch (U6).
2. Ensure solar MPPT input configurations and battery holder (B1) connections are optimized for ultra-low power operation.
Update Supporting Components and Interfaces
1. Review and update supporting I2C, debug (USB-UART through CP2102N IC1), RF, and external access connections to align with low-power requirements.
2. Verify that power nets (VMCU, VBAT, VIN) are properly connected across the components to achieve regulated and gated power flow during sensor sleep and active modes.
Integrate and Confirm Additional Sensing and Control
1. Add or refine external sensor power gating and interface elements to ensure precise control over sensor operations, contributing to extended battery life.
2. Update net connections and labels if necessary to remove ambiguity and enhance design integrity.
Prepare Design Documentation
1. Update the project properties and description to reflect the product as a LoRaWAN CO2 sensor with 10-year battery life.
2. Prepare the schematic and PCB layout for a comprehensive manufacturability review.
