Here’s how to edit a component’s 3D model in Flux:
Import or Modify the 3D Asset:
You can’t directly edit the 3D model geometry inside Flux. Instead, you must either modify the source 3D file externally or import a new file.
Add the 3D Model to Your Project:
Switch to the PCB editor.
In the left-hand “Objects” panel, right-click on the “Root” folder and select Add > Model.
This creates a new model object.
Assign the 3D Asset to the Model Object:
With the new “Model” object selected, go to the inspector on the right.
Click add rule under “Object-specific rules”.
Type Asset and click done.
In the asset input, search for and select the 3D file you uploaded.
Floating copper refers to any isolated area of copper on your PCB that is not electrically connected to a designated net. This "orphan" copper can occur in copper fills, traces, or islands and might be flagged by design rule checks. It can lead to potential issues such as unwanted parasitic effects or manufacturing warnings if not managed properly.
