Mini Retro TV Design

The targeted manual routing pass created manufacturing-rule problems instead of converging cleanly, so I’m rolling those traces back to preserve the clean placement. I’ll leave the board placed and document routing as the remaining open item rather than leaving bad copper in the design.

Placed the 80 × 55 mm 2-layer PCB with the requested USB, display, Hall-row, battery, power, button, piezo, mounting-hole, and ESP32 antenna-edge priorities; details are in PCB Layout Notes.
Open item: routing is still pending — I rolled back the manual routing attempt because it created copper-rule violations, leaving the clean placed board with airwires instead of bad traces.
Suggested next steps: use a full-board routing pass from this placement, or approve a slightly larger board (e.g. 85 × 60 mm) if you want more routing margin before manufacturing.

Status
Draft notes for a low-volume ESP32-C3 wireless product. This is not a certification approval.
Applicable Areas
  • FCC Part 15 / CE RED / UKCA: applicable because the design contains an ESP32-C3 WiFi/BLE radio module.
  • Battery charger safety review: applicable because the board charges a single-cell LiPo.

ModuleTechnologyFrequency BandIntegration Notes
ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4WiFi 2.4 GHz + BLE2.4 GHz ISMUse module antenna at board edge with no copper/components under antenna keepout. Enclosure materials must not detune antenna.
Required Documentation Checklist
  • Product description captured in Project Specification.
  • Draft BOM and pin map captured in Schematic Notes.
  • Final schematic export after review.
  • Final PCB layout/Gerbers after layout.
  • ESP32-C3 module certification evidence and integration conditions.
  • EMC/RF test reports from accredited lab if selling commercially.
  • Final user manual safety and RF statements.
RF Design Notes
  • Keep ESP32-C3 antenna at an exterior board edge.
  • No copper pour, traces, components, screws, battery metal, display frame, or decorative metal near the antenna keepout.
  • Do not place the LiPo battery directly over the antenna area.
Open Items
  • Confirm exact ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4 certification IDs and module integration constraints before production sale.
  • Revisit after PCB placement to verify antenna keepout is actually preserved.
