Part Audit

I’m checking the package geometry, pad numbering, and hidden project properties in parallel.
The footprint currently identifies itself as STPS10L40CSF/PSMC (TO-277A) while the project MPN is STPS10M60SF; I’m verifying whether that is a harmless family reuse or a real mismatch.

Pin and symbol cross-check
Audit complete. The official ST datasheet URL was already set, and the 3-pin mapping and TO-277A land pattern match; issues are missing package/pin metadata, an ambiguous description, and a footprint filename referencing STPS10L40CSF.

2AAnode terminalMatch
3KCathode / large thermal-current terminalMatch
The SVG depicts a single Schottky diode with two internally commoned anode terminals and one cathode terminal. This matches the datasheet requirement that the two anode terminals be short-circuited for rated operation. Symbol orientation is graphical only and does not affect the correct pin mapping.
Footprint cross-check
The installed footprint is identified internally as STPS10L40CSF.kicad_mod, described as PSMC (TO-277A), while its 3D model is STPS10M60SF.stp.
Observed land pattern:
  • Small pads 1 and 2: 1.27 mm × 1.40 mm
  • Small-pad center spacing: 2.08 mm
  • Large pad 3: 4.72 mm × 4.80 mm
  • Three-pad PSMC/TO-277A arrangement with the large cathode pad opposite the two anode pads
These dimensions and the pad arrangement match the ST datasheet’s recommended PSMC (TO-277A) footprint. The differing STPS10L40CSF filename appears to be family-footprint reuse rather than a geometry or pinout error, but it should be renamed for traceability.
Mismatches and quality flags
  1. Missing Package property: Add PSMC (TO-277A).
  2. Incomplete pin metadata: Pins 1 and 2 should be described as anode terminals and pin 3 as cathode/thermal-current terminal. Electrical pin types should not remain Unspecified if the library schema supports passive diode terminals.
  3. Footprint asset naming mismatch: The footprint filename/value references STPS10L40CSF, not STPS10M60SF. Geometry and pin mapping match, so this is a traceability/name issue rather than a manufacturing error.
  4. Description quality: The current description contains an unrelated/ambiguous category prefix. Replace it with a clean manufacturer-style description.
  5. No functional pinout mismatch found: Symbol pin numbers, labels, footprint pads, and datasheet terminal functions agree.
  6. No land-pattern mismatch found: Pad sizes and arrangement agree with the official recommended footprint within the extracted drawing data.
