Pico 2 Part Audit

The pin-number audit is complete: the 40 main pins and 3 SWD pads align with the official Pico 2 pinout, while metadata quality issues remain around pin descriptions/types, AGND naming, package info, and footprint geometry confidence.

Completed the SC1631/Pico 2 part audit and created the detailed report here: SC1631 Part Datasheet Review.
Open items:
  • Datasheet URL was already set, so I did not change it; the report notes the direct official Raspberry Pi URL.
  • Pin numbering matches the official Pico 2 pinout, but pin descriptions/types are missing.
  • AGND, test-point warnings, package metadata, and footprint geometry confidence need cleanup.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Add datasheet-backed pin descriptions and pin types to all 50 terminals.
  2. Rename or annotate pin 33 as AGND.
  3. Replace or supplement the uploaded datasheet URL with the direct official Raspberry Pi URL.
  4. Verify the footprint against the official Pico 2 CAD/STEP package.

SC1631 Part Datasheet Review
Date: 2026-07-12 Project: SC1631 Part UID: 9ef99fc5-2bf2-4b5e-96fa-2175b20e9952
Scope
Reviewed the published Flux component for Raspberry Pi SC1631 / Raspberry Pi Pico 2 against official Raspberry Pi documentation. The audit covered available project metadata, schematic terminals, footprint information, assets, and pin descriptions.
Sources used
  • Current project metadata and schematic/PCB data in Flux.

Note: The project already had a Datasheet URL set, so no Datasheet property update was required by the user's rule. The existing URL appears to be an uploaded copy of the Pico 2 datasheet; for source traceability, the direct official Raspberry Pi URL should be preferred if the library policy allows replacing uploaded copies with official URLs.

Pin property quality check
All 50 terminals are currently modelled as generic Terminal components. The pin numbers are mostly correct, but each terminal shows:
  • Pin Type: Unspecified
  • No Pin Description property
  • No explicit electrical role such as Power In, Power Out, Ground, Digital, Analog, USB, Reset/Input, or Not Recommended / Do Not Use
Recommended terminal metadata improvements:

Table

Terminal groupSuggested metadata
GP0-GP22, GP26-GP28Pin Type: Digital or Bi-Directional; Pin Description should include alternate UART/I2C/SPI/ADC functions from the official pinout
GP26-GP28Include ADC0/ADC1/ADC2 in Pin Description
GND pinsPin Type: Ground; pin labels or descriptions should indicate GND
Pin 33Label/description should explicitly say AGND, not only GND_7
VBUS, VSYSPin Type: Power In; include voltage/use notes
3V3(OUT)Pin Type: Power Out; include regulated 3.3 V output note
3V3_EN, RUNPin Type: Input / System Control; include function notes
ADC_VREFPin Type: Power In / Analog reference; include ADC reference description
SWCLK, SWDIOPin Type: Digital / Debug; include SWD function
TP1-TP7Add official test point functions and external-use warnings
Footprint / PCB geometry check
Observed from current Flux layout:
  • PCB node count includes 50 pad nodes corresponding to the modelled terminals.
  • Main header pad sequence and pitch are consistent with 2.54 mm spacing when interpreting layout coordinates at the normal mm scale.
  • Main rows appear at approximately +/-9.69 mm pad centers for the carrier-board pad geometry, while the official Pico-family through-hole row spacing is 17.78 mm between hole centers.
  • The active silk outline visible in the flat footprint view appears approximately 24.58 mm x 55.10 mm, larger than the official physical board size of 21 mm x 51 mm.
  • The footprint includes four mount pads/nodes numbered 41-44, which likely correspond to the Pico mounting holes, but detailed diameter/position verification was not possible from the current tree output alone.
  • Only a symbol SVG is listed as a project asset; no footprint asset or official 3D model asset is attached/flagged. Raspberry Pi provides official STEP/CAD assets for Pico 2.
Interpretation:
  • The footprint may intentionally use larger carrier-board SMT/castellated land pads and a courtyard-like outline rather than the actual module body outline. If so, the larger outline and wider pad centers should be documented.
  • If the active silk is intended to represent the physical module body, it does not match the official 21 mm x 51 mm body size and should be corrected.
  • For a library-grade SC1631 component, the footprint should be verified against the official mechanical drawing/CAD/STEP package, especially pad centers, hole positions, USB connector keepout/protrusion, and body outline.

Overall assessment
The component correctly identifies SC1631 and captures the expected 50 externally modelled pads: 40 main Pico 2 pins, 3 SWD pads, and 7 test points. The core pin numbering aligns with the official Raspberry Pi Pico 2 datasheet.
The main problems are metadata quality and footprint confidence, not missing pins: pin descriptions/types are absent, AGND is not distinguished, the part is categorized as an IC rather than a module/board, package/form-factor metadata is missing, and the footprint should be checked against official mechanical/CAD data before relying on it for carrier-board layout.
