Date: 2026-07-23 Reviewed available part metadata, official datasheet information, schematic terminals, footprint data, and pin grouping for...
Completed the part review and grouped all 91 pads into one primary functional group each, with no intentional duplicate group assignments. Full details are in PIC32WM-BZ6204UE-I Part Review.
Open items:
  • Footprint perimeter pads appear undersized vs Microchip’s recommended land pattern; I filed an internal part-quality report.
  • Pin Type / Pin Description metadata is still incomplete.
  • Mount and part classification metadata should be cleaned up.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Update the footprint perimeter pads to Microchip’s 0.70 mm × 1.00 mm land pattern.
  2. Populate Pin Type and Pin Description from the datasheet.
  3. Replace the uploaded datasheet URL with the official Microchip PDF URL if desired.
  • Make the functional group more general.
  • Add a Section property to all pins, and apply the same value used in the Pin Group property to each pin's Section property.
Assign a Terminal Order from 1 to 10, starting with Power. Power should be Terminal Order 1, and Ground should be last, Terminal Order 10. For Orientation, set Power to "Top" and Ground to "Bottom." For the remaining sections/groups, you may decide the Terminal Order and Orientation yourself. For Orientation, distribute them between "Left" and "Right" — don't put everything on one side. Each group/section should have a different orientation.
I’ll regroup the pins into broader functional categories, set Section equal to Pin Group on every terminal, and assign order/orientation with Power first and Ground last.
Completed the regrouping across all 91 terminals. I made the groups more general, set every pin’s Section equal to its Pin Group, and verified the required ordering: Power = 1 / Top, Ground = 10 / Bottom, with the remaining groups distributed left/right.
Open items:
  • Some broad group names like Communication, Digital I/O, and Control triggered autocomplete warnings, but the values were still applied successfully.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Visually inspect the regenerated symbol layout.
  2. If desired, I can further collapse the groups into only 4 categories: Power, Signal, No Connect, Ground.
