Part Datasheet Audit

Audit status
Completed. No project mutation was made. The exact existing Datasheet URL is already populated, so no in-place update was necessary.
Identity and official source
The internal names CONN5_M50C5M00_4 and CONN5_M50C5M00_VIC are CAD/library identifiers, not valid manufacturer order codes.

  • Display arrangement: pins 1/3/5 on the left; 2/4 on the right.
  • All terminals lack Pin Group, Pin Orientation, Section and Terminal Order metadata; the part-review check confirmed these omissions.
  • Official functional terminals are +IN, −IN, EMI GND, +OUT, −OUT, with corresponding power/input/output-return descriptions.
  • The Vicor datasheet labels terminals by function and physical position but does not provide a complete 1–5 numeric mapping. Therefore, the project’s numeric-only mapping cannot be conclusively validated.
  • The symbol does not communicate polarity, input/output side, or EMI-ground function.

Mismatches and unresolved risks
  1. Critical identity/footprint variant mismatch: exact MPN MFM1714V50M50C5M00 is the chassis/lug-mount variant, but the footprint implements the datasheet’s PCB board-mount hole pattern. The PCB-mount orderable variants are MFM1714B50M50C5M04 and ...M08, not the V...M00 part.
  2. Stored MPN is incorrect: CONN5_M50C5M00_4 instead of MFM1714V50M50C5M00.
  3. Stored manufacturer is incorrect: Power Supply instead of Vicor Corporation.
  4. Part Type Connectors is misleading; this is an EMI input filter/power module, not a connector.
  5. Project description is only an internal identifier.
  6. Symbol pin names, types and descriptions do not represent the five official functions.
  7. Numeric pin-to-function mapping remains unresolved because the official datasheet primarily uses functional labels and location rather than a full numeric table.
  8. Footprint drills differ from the official recommended board pattern:
    • Electrical holes: footprint 3.1242mm vs datasheet 3.048 ± 0.076mm
    • Mounting holes: footprint 4.445mm vs datasheet 4.369 ± 0.076mm
  9. Datasheet board pattern calls out annular-ring requirements that are not clearly met by the footprint’s relatively small copper diameters.
  10. Imported layer geometry appears conflated in Flux: the “Silk Shapes” asset includes both courtyard and silk rectangles; the source KiCad payload distinguishes F.CrtYd, F.SilkS, and F.Fab.
  11. No explicit solder-mask expansion rules are stored; mask behavior is inherited.
  12. No 3D model is available for mechanical confirmation.
Per scope, none of these mismatches were altered.

Audit complete. The official Vicor datasheet was already set, so no URL update was needed. The main issue is critical: the stored chassis-mount MPN MFM1714V50M50C5M00 conflicts with a PCB-mount footprint; metadata, pin functions, drill sizes, and annular rings also need correction.

Conclusion
The project is for a Vicor LV/MIL-COTS MFM EMI input filter module, but its stored identity and footprint variant are inconsistent. The official datasheet was already attached, so no Datasheet URL change was required.
Official identity and source
The strings CONN5_M50C5M00_4 and CONN5_M50C5M00_VIC are internal CAD/library identifiers, not Vicor orderable part numbers.

Symbol review
The rendered symbol is a generic five-pin rectangle. Pins are only labeled 1 through 5.

Official functional terminals are:
  • +IN — positive input power
  • −IN — negative input power return
  • EMI GND — EMI ground
  • +OUT — positive output power
  • −OUT — negative output power return
The datasheet identifies terminals by function and physical location, but does not provide a complete numeric 1–5 table. Therefore the existing numeric-only mapping cannot be conclusively verified without an authoritative mapping source or a careful assignment using the pin-1 datum and drawing orientation.

Mismatches and risks
  1. Critical package/footprint variant mismatch. MFM1714V50M50C5M00 is the chassis/lug-mount variant, but the footprint is the datasheet PCB board-mount hole pattern. The board-mount orderable variants are MFM1714B50M50C5M04 (short pin) and MFM1714B50M50C5M08 (long pin).
  2. Incorrect stored MPN. CONN5_M50C5M00_4 should not be used as the manufacturer part number.
  3. Incorrect manufacturer. Power Supply is a category, not the manufacturer; the manufacturer is Vicor Corporation.
  4. Incorrect classification. This is an EMI filter/power module, not a connector.
  5. Weak description. The project description is only an internal identifier and omits the actual function and ratings.
  6. Symbol mismatch. The symbol omits polarity, input/output direction, EMI ground, pin types, and pin descriptions.
  7. Unresolved numeric mapping. Numeric pins cannot yet be safely assigned to functions solely from the existing metadata.
  8. Electrical drill mismatch. Footprint drill is 3.1242mm; the recommended board hole is 3.048 ± 0.076mm.
  9. Mounting drill mismatch. Footprint drill is 4.445mm; the recommended board hole is 4.369 ± 0.076mm.
  10. Annular-ring concern. Datasheet calls for 0.762mm annular ring on each of five electrical holes and 1.626mm on the two mounting holes. The footprint copper diameters do not clearly provide those radial annular-ring values and require correction/clarification before fabrication.
  11. Layer-import concern. Imported silk geometry appears to include geometry sourced from multiple KiCad layers; fab, silk, and courtyard should be verified independently.
  12. Reference/value overlap. Reference and value text overlap near the footprint center.
  13. No 3D model. Mechanical orientation and body clearance cannot be visually confirmed in 3D.
First decide which physical part is intended:
  • If the PCB footprint is required, change the identity to the appropriate board-mount MPN (...M04 or ...M08) and retain/correct a board-mount footprint.
  • If MFM1714V50M50C5M00 is required, replace the PCB-mount footprint with the chassis/lug implementation and associated mechanical handling.
After that decision, update manufacturer/MPN/classification/description, assign functional pin names and descriptions from the datasheet using the correct drawing orientation, and correct the hole/annular-ring geometry.
