Part Datasheet Review

I found the official TI LM5013-Q1 datasheet and confirmed the library part currently has an empty Datasheet URL property; I’m updating that next and then validating pins/package against the PDF.

Completed the LM5013QDDARQ1 audit and set the Datasheet URL to the official TI PDF. I created the full review here: LM5013QDDARQ1 Part Review.
Open items:
  • Type-specific metadata is wrong: it reports Logic / AND instead of a buck regulator.
  • Pin Type and Pin Description fields are missing/unspecified.
  • Footprint pitch/order look correct, but pad sizes are slightly smaller than TI’s example land pattern.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Update pin types/descriptions from the datasheet.
  2. Correct IC metadata to Power Management / Buck Regulator.
  3. Decide whether to revise the footprint to TI’s example land pattern.

Schematic symbol check
  • Symbol exposes the correct functional pins: GND, VIN, EN/UVLO, RON, FB, PGOOD, BST, SW, and EPAD.
  • Pin-number mapping matches datasheet Table 5-1.
  • Symbol has 9 terminals while TI calls the device an 8-pin SO PowerPAD package. This is expected if the exposed pad is represented as pad/terminal 9, but the part description should remain clear that it is an 8-pin package plus exposed pad.
  • Pin descriptions and electrical Pin Type properties are not populated: all inspected terminal Pin Type values are Unspecified. This weakens ERC quality and is the main symbol metadata issue.
Footprint check
Datasheet land pattern for DDA0008B PowerPAD SOIC shows:
  • 8 signal pads: 1.55 mm x 0.60 mm
  • Signal pad pitch: 1.27 mm
  • Row-to-row / outer land span: 5.4 mm
  • Exposed pad / thermal pad solder mask opening: 2.71 mm x 3.4 mm
  • Package body nominal from device information: 4.89 mm x 3.90 mm
Observed Flux footprint:
  • 8 signal pads plus EPAD are present.
  • Signal pad pitch appears correct at 1.27 mm.
  • Signal pad row spacing appears aligned with the 5.4 mm land pattern span.
  • Signal pad size appears to be about 1.46 mm x 0.559 mm, slightly smaller than the TI example 1.55 mm x 0.60 mm.
  • EPAD appears to be about 2.388 mm x 3.099 mm, smaller than the TI example 2.71 mm x 3.4 mm.
  • Existing silkscreen text identifies the source footprint as POWERPAD8_DDA_TEX / Accelerated Designs.
Mismatches / issues flagged
  1. Datasheet URL was missing — fixed by setting the Datasheet URL to the official TI PDF.
  2. Incorrect type-specific library metadata — library search reports IC Type = Logic and Logic Function = AND, but the part is a power-management buck regulator. Recommended correction: set IC type/category to Power Management / Buck Switching Regulator and remove the AND logic function metadata.
  3. Pin Type values are Unspecified — all terminals should be assigned datasheet-backed electrical types: GND = Ground, VIN/BST/SW = Power or Power/Input as appropriate, EN/UVLO/RON/FB = Input, PGOOD = Output/Open Drain, EPAD = Passive or Power/Ground depending on Flux ERC convention.
  4. Pin Description fields are missing — terminal descriptions should be populated from datasheet Table 5-1 for better schematic review and reuse.
  5. Explicit package property not observed — the part should ideally include Package or Case Code = SO PowerPAD (DDA) / DDA0008B / 8-PowerSOIC, not only rely on the MPN suffix and description.
  6. Footprint pad dimensions are slightly smaller than TI example land pattern — signal pads are about 1.46 x 0.559 mm versus TI example 1.55 x 0.60 mm, and EPAD is about 2.388 x 3.099 mm versus TI example 2.71 x 3.4 mm. Pitch and pin order appear correct. TI notes IPC-7351 alternate designs may exist, so this is a manufacturability/land-pattern preference flag rather than a confirmed fatal error.
  1. Update type-specific metadata to Power Management / Buck Regulator.
  2. Populate per-pin Pin Type and Pin Description from Table 5-1.
  3. Add or correct explicit package property to SO PowerPAD (DDA), 8-PowerSOIC, DDA0008B.
  4. Decide whether to keep the current IPC/Accelerated Designs land pattern or revise pads to TI's example land pattern dimensions.
