Part Review and Datasheet Update

I’ll inspect the part metadata, locate the official datasheet if needed, update the Datasheet property, then compare symbol/footprint/pins against the datasheet and summarize mismatches.
Completed the IQS550-BL-QNR part review and added the official Azoteq datasheet URL: https://www.azoteq.com/images/stories/pdf/iqs5xx-b000_trackpad_datasheet.pdf.
I created the full review report in the project document part-review-iqs550-bl-qnr. Main findings: pin count and pin numbering match the datasheet; key flags are missing explicit pin descriptions, ~RST differing from datasheet NRST, RxB pins needing better ProxSense-note descriptions, and footprint geometry needing a dimensional check because the inspected layout output exposed pad count but not pad dimensions.
Suggested next steps:
  • Add datasheet-derived Pin Description properties to all terminals.
  • Add manufacturer/package/voltage/temperature metadata.
  • Verify the QFN(7x7)-48 footprint geometry against datasheet Figure 11.2 before publishing.

Footprint Cross-Check
  • Project footprint/pads present: 49 pads plus footprint containers/shapes.
  • Datasheet package: QFN(7x7)-48 with exposed pad, so the pad count matches.
  • Datasheet recommended landing pattern:
    • Pitch P: 0.50 mm
    • Perimeter pad width W: 0.30 mm
    • Perimeter pad length/height H: 0.55 mm
    • Overall footprint spans: X2/Y2 7.30 mm, X1/Y1 6.20 mm, inner X/Y 5.60 mm
    • Exposed pad: X3 5.80 mm, Y 5.60 mm in datasheet table/figure context

  • The project layout inspection exposed pad count and pad designators, but did not expose detailed pad geometry in the readout. Therefore, footprint dimensions and IPC-7351B toe/heel/side fillet compliance were not numerically verified from the tool output.
Mismatches / Issues Flagged
  1. Datasheet URL was missing — fixed by adding the official Azoteq PDF URL to the project Datasheet URL property.
  2. Pin descriptions are incomplete in the symbol — the terminals have pin numbers and pin types, but no explicit Pin Description properties. Datasheet descriptions should ideally be added, especially for VREG, RDY, SW_IN, PGM, VDDHI, VDDIO, VSS, VSSIO, and the RxB pins.
  3. RxB pins are slightly under-described by type — datasheet describes Rx0B through Rx9B as Note1: configurable through I2C as the ProxSense electrode. The project marks them as generic bidirectional pins; electrically usable, but less descriptive than the datasheet.
  4. Reset pin name differs — datasheet uses NRST; symbol uses ~RST. This is semantically acceptable for active-low reset, but exact naming differs.
  5. Project description says 0.6mm — datasheet landing pattern pitch is 0.50 mm. The 0.6 mm value may refer to max package height (H package dimension 0.500–0.600 mm), not pitch. If it was intended as pitch, it is incorrect.
  6. Footprint geometry not fully verified — pad count matches QFN-48+EP, but detailed pad sizes/spacing were not available in the inspected layout output, so dimensions should be checked visually or with a geometry-capable footprint export/review.
  • Add Manufacturer Name: Azoteq, Package or Case Code: QFN(7x7)-48, and optionally Operating Voltage: 1.65–3.6 V, Operating Temperature: -40 to 85 °C if supported on the published part metadata.
  • Add Pin Description text matching the datasheet pin table.
  • Consider renaming ~RST to NRST or nRST if exact datasheet naming is preferred.
  • Verify footprint pad geometry against datasheet Figure 11.2 dimensions before publishing/reuse in PCB designs.
