Current symbol implementation:
  • Five terminal components, designators/pin numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
  • Pin Type is Unspecified on all five terminals.
  • No Pin Description, Pin Group, or Section values are set.
Assessment:
  • Pin count matches the datasheet/product page: OK.
  • Numbered contacts 1 through 5 match the datasheet's available pin numbering: OK.
  • Pin descriptions are missing: incomplete but not necessarily electrically wrong, because the Amphenol drawing only provides contact numbers and does not show a signal/color table.
  • Pin Type Unspecified is acceptable for a connector, though Passive would generally be cleaner for ERC.
  • The project description says 2PIN, which conflicts with the actual part being a 5-position connector. This is a metadata mismatch and should be corrected.
Important caution: because the part is marketed for NMEA 2000, there is a common 5-pin Micro-C signal convention, but I did not find that signal mapping in the HMC-05PMMP-SF8001 drawing itself. Do not hard-code CAN_H/CAN_L/power/shield pin descriptions unless a sourced NMEA 2000 pinout reference is accepted for this part.

Assessment:
  • Drill diameter Ø1.0 mm matches the drawing: OK.
  • Geometry is consistent with four outer contacts on a Ø5.0 mm pitch circle plus one center contact, with the local pitch-circle center at pad 5: OK.
  • Pad diameter 1.5 mm gives a 0.25 mm annular ring around a 1.0 mm drill. The datasheet did not explicitly state copper pad diameter; this is plausible but should be verified against the intended fabrication capability and connector mechanical stress.
  • Footprint origin is offset from the contact-pattern center; this is not inherently wrong, but the placement origin should be intentional for panel alignment.
  • Mechanical outline/courtyard is approximate and should be checked if this connector must align to an enclosure panel cutout.
Pin-numbering/orientation risk
The drawing includes a Pin Assignments Front View and a separate PCB layout view. For panel-mount circular connectors, front-view pin numbering may need mirroring when implemented as a PCB-side footprint. The current footprint implies this pad map around the center contact:

This appears consistent with the visually extracted PCB layout if interpreted as the PCB layout view, but it should be treated as the highest-risk item because a front-view/rear-view mirror error would swap physical mating contacts.
Mismatches / issues flagged
  1. Project description mismatch: the description says 2PIN, but the part/datasheet is clearly 5 pins / 5 positions.
  2. Missing symbol pin descriptions: terminals have no descriptions. Conservative descriptions could be Contact 1 through Contact 5; NMEA 2000 signal names should only be added if sourced/approved.
  3. Pin Type could be improved: all pins are Unspecified; Passive would be cleaner for a connector.
  4. Manufacturer property is broad: project property says Amphenol; official branding is Amphenol LTW. Not functionally wrong, but more specific would be better.
  5. Footprint pad numbering orientation should be visually verified: the hole pitch/drill are OK, but front-view vs PCB-view mirroring is the critical verification risk.
  6. Copper pad diameter not datasheet-confirmed: current 1.5 mm pad diameter is plausible but not directly specified in the readable drawing.
  7. Mechanical/panel alignment not fully encoded: panel cutout and max panel thickness are confirmed but not represented as a dedicated keepout/cutout rule in the current footprint.
  • Correct project description to remove 2PIN and describe it as a 5-position NMEA 2000 Micro/M12 male PCB panel receptacle.
  • Add conservative Pin Descriptions: Contact 1 through Contact 5, or add sourced NMEA 2000 signal names only if the standard mapping is approved.
  • Change connector Pin Type from Unspecified to Passive.
  • Add/verify footprint documentation for the panel cutout: Ø15.40, 13.60 +0.10/0, max panel thickness 4.5 mm.
  • Do one final visual check of PCB pad numbering against the drawing's PCB layout view before publishing or manufacturing.
