Part Datasheet Audit

Review all available part information (MPN, package, pin count, description, properties). If no datasheet URL is already set, search the web for the official datasheet and update the part's Datasheet property with the URL. Then cross-check the schematic symbol, footprint, and pin descriptions against the datasheet. Summarize key specs and flag any mismatches.
I’ll audit the part metadata, locate the official datasheet if needed, update the Datasheet property, then verify the symbol, footprint, and pin mapping against the source.

Part Datasheet Audit Scope
Audit of the published part DPF60IM400HB against the official Littelfuse / IXYS datasheet.
Official source Current part metadata Datasheet key specifications
  • Device: HiPerFRED² high-performance fast-recovery single diode
  • Package: TO-247 / TO-247AD
  • Repetitive reverse voltage, VRRM: 400 V
  • Average forward current, IFAV: 60 A at TC = 130°C, rectangular duty cycle d = 0.5
  • Surge forward current, IFSM: 600 A, 10 ms sine, TVJ = 45°C, VR = 0 V
Audit complete. The official Littelfuse datasheet URL was already set; MPN and 3-pin mapping are correct, but manufacturer, part type, package, description, and pin descriptions are incomplete. The footprint geometry is not trustworthy for fabrication, so I filed an internal part-quality report.

Pin and symbol cross-check

Table

PinDatasheet functionCurrent symbol terminalResult
1AnodeA, pin number 1Correct
2CathodeK, pin number 2Correct
3AnodeA, pin number 3Correct
Tab/backsideCathodeNo separate schematic terminalAcceptable because it is internally common with pin 2; footprint/mechanical documentation should make this explicit
The electrical topology is correct: pins 1 and 3 are duplicate anode connections and pin 2/tab are cathode. However, the symbol terminal records have no meaningful Pin Description values, and the schematic component labels are internally generated (K, A::) rather than a clean single diode symbol presentation. Add descriptions such as “Anode”, “Cathode; internally connected to tab/backside”, and “Anode”.
Footprint cross-check
Datasheet mechanical requirements:
  • Three leads on 5.46 mm BSC pitch (e), with 10.92 mm nominal span from pin 1 to pin 3
  • Lead width b: 0.99–1.40 mm
  • Center lead width b2: 1.65–2.39 mm
  • Body: approximately 20.79–21.45 mm long and 15.48–16.24 mm wide
  • Mounting-hole diameter: 3.55–3.65 mm
Observed footprint data:
  • Three footprint pads are spaced approximately 5.5 mm apart, which is consistent with the 5.46 mm nominal pitch.
  • The reported pad size is 7.62 × 3.81 in the layout data, while the reported coordinates and rule units appear inconsistently scaled. This does not correspond to a normal TO-247 lead land pattern and must be visually/dimensionally verified before fabrication.
  • Three additional tiny pads associated with the schematic terminal elements are reported at the origin. These may be part-editor artifacts, but if they are included in manufacturing output they are erroneous duplicates.
  • No verified package body outline, mounting-hole geometry, or courtyard was visible in the inspected layout data.
Flagged mismatches and risks
  1. Missing manufacturer metadata — Manufacturer Name is blank.
  2. Missing part classification — Part Type is blank.
  3. Missing package metadata — TO-247 / TO-247AD is not recorded as a property.
  4. Weak description — Description repeats only the MPN instead of “400 V, 60 A HiPerFRED² fast-recovery diode, TO-247AD”.
  5. Missing pin descriptions — Pin numbers/functions are electrically correct, but descriptive pin metadata is absent.
  6. Footprint geometry requires correction or confirmation — pitch is close, but the exposed pad sizes/unit scaling, duplicate origin pads, absent body outline, and absent mounting hole do not provide confidence that the footprint is manufacturable.
  7. Tab connection should be documented — the metal tab/backside is cathode and must be treated as an electrically live 400 V node in heatsink and enclosure design.
Overall assessment
The MPN, datasheet link, terminal count, and electrical pin mapping are correct. The part is not production-ready because metadata is incomplete and the footprint cannot be validated as a correct TO-247AD land pattern from the current geometry; it should be repaired and rechecked against the datasheet mechanical drawing before use.
