TI Part Audit

Yes. I’ll assign every physical pin to exactly one broad functional group based on its primary datasheet function, with no duplicates; Power and Ground will be separate, and Section will match Pin Group.
The metadata and pin grouping are updated. I’m doing a final read-back now, including the split-land pad mapping and the remaining legacy footprint-asset issue.

The part was reviewed against the official Texas Instruments BQ25628E datasheet (Rev. C). The Datasheet URL was set to: https://www.ti.com/l...
Audited and corrected the part: official TI datasheet added, package set to RYK0018A WQFN-HR-18, all terminals verified, and pins grouped by primary function with matching Sections and no cross-group duplication.
The footprint geometry matches TI, but its imported asset retains incorrect legacy pad numbers 19–22 for split lands; I filed an internal quality report. Full findings: BQ25628ERYKR Part Audit.

Result
The part was reviewed against the official Texas Instruments BQ25628E datasheet (Rev. C). The Datasheet URL was set to:
Verified identity and package
  • Manufacturer: Texas Instruments
  • Orderable MPN: BQ25628ERYKR
  • Function: I2C-controlled single-cell Li-ion/Li-polymer buck charger with NVDC power-path management and integrated ADC
  • Package: WQFN-HR, TI drawing RYK0018A
  • Nominal body: 3.0 mm x 2.5 mm, 0.8 mm maximum height
  • Electrical pins: 18
  • Recommended land-pattern contacts: 22, because pins 1, 5, 10, and 14 use split lands
  • Status: Active / production according to the TI package option addendum
  • Operating ambient: -40 C to +85 C
Key electrical specifications
  • Recommended VBUS input: 3.9 V to 18 V
  • VBUS absolute maximum: 26 V
  • Maximum fast-charge current: 2 A
  • Charge-current programming range: 40 mA to 2 A, 40 mA steps
  • PWM switching frequency: 1.5 MHz nominal (1.35 to 1.65 MHz range/programmable options)
  • Integrated 12-bit ADC
  • Maximum recommended SW output current: 3.5 A
  • Continuous battery discharge current: 6 A RMS; 10 A peak up to 50 ms
Metadata corrections
  • Added the official TI Datasheet URL.
  • Corrected the package metadata from the erroneous TO value to RYK0018A (WQFN-HR-18).
  • Confirmed the MPN and manufacturer.
Pin grouping
Each terminal is assigned to one broad functional group, and Section equals Pin Group. The groups are:
  • Power — VBUS, REGN
  • Ground — GND
  • Switching/Power Path — BTST, SW, PMID
  • Battery/System — BAT, SYS
  • Control — ILIM, QON, CE
  • I2C — SDA, SCL
  • Status/Interrupt — PG, STAT, INT
  • Temperature Sense — TS_BIAS, TS
Group presentation conventions were applied: Power order 1/orientation Top; Ground order 10/orientation Bottom; remaining groups are consistently placed on Left or Right.
Symbol and pin-description review
All 22 terminal objects were checked against the TI pin table. Pin numbers, names, descriptions, and electrical types now match the datasheet. The four split-land terminal pairs correctly share their electrical pin numbers:
  • BTST and BTST_2 -> pin 1
  • TS_BIAS and TS_BIAS_2 -> pin 5
  • STAT and STAT_2 -> pin 10
  • CE and CE_2 -> pin 14
The _2 labels distinguish separate physical copper lands in Flux; they are not separate electrical IC pins. Each terminal object belongs to exactly one group, with no cross-group duplication.
Footprint review and remaining mismatch
The visible 22-land geometry matches the TI RYK0018A recommended land pattern, including the extended/split lands. No geometry was moved.
However, the imported footprint asset is still named BQ25622ERYKR.kicad_mod and internally defines the four split lands as legacy pad numbers 19, 20, 21, and 22. After correcting the schematic terminal mapping to the actual electrical pins 1, 5, 10, and 14, Flux exposes four additional unmatched virtual footprint pads labeled 19-22.
This is an asset numbering mismatch, not a land-geometry mismatch. Fully correcting it requires replacing the footprint asset with an otherwise identical RYK0018A footprint whose split lands reuse pad numbers 1, 5, 10, and 14. Asset-generated pad nodes could not be deleted directly.
Conclusion
The part metadata, official datasheet link, symbol pin data, pin descriptions, functional grouping, and physical land geometry are now aligned with the TI datasheet. The remaining issue is the legacy internal pad numbering in the imported footprint asset; it should be replaced before publishing or relying on automated schematic-to-footprint pin mapping.
