BK-18650-PC2 Review

I’ll review the part metadata, find and attach the official datasheet if missing, then compare symbol/footprint/pin data against it and summarize any mismatches.
Found the official MPD datasheet and added it to the part metadata. I’m now checking the terminal/pad geometry and pin descriptions against the drawing.

I created a project file with the full part-review results and mismatch notes. I’m doing one final metadata check before wrapping up.
Finished the BK-18650-PC2 review and updated the Datasheet URL to the official MPD PDF. The footprint appears usable: key geometry matches the datasheet, including 72.90 mm terminal span, ~55.61 mm mounting-hole spacing, Ø3.20 mm mounting holes, 1.38 × 2.40 mm terminal slots, and 76.96 × 20.98 mm body outline.
Open items:
  • Description is poor/non-human-readable.
  • Pin descriptions for + and - are missing.
  • Copper land size looks reasonable, but the exact manufacturer-recommended copper pad size was not fully extractable from the datasheet.
Full details are in BK-18650-PC2 Part Review. Suggested next step: update the description and add terminal pin descriptions.

Schematic Symbol / Terminal Review
Current schematic contains two terminal elements:

Table

Findings:
  • The two-terminal passive symbol is appropriate for a battery holder.
  • Pin numbers + and - are acceptable for this part.
  • Pin descriptions are missing; recommended descriptions are Positive battery terminal and Negative battery terminal.
Footprint Review
Current footprint data inspected from the Flux PCB layout/KiCad footprint payload:

Mismatches / Issues
No hard footprint mismatch was found against the official MPD datasheet for the key mechanical features checked.
Issues and improvements to consider:
  1. Description is not human-readable and should be replaced with a useful part description.
  2. Part Type appears empty in the library search result; it should be set to an appropriate battery holder / connector category if supported.
  3. Pin descriptions are missing for the + and - terminals.
  4. Copper land size was not independently confirmed as an exact manufacturer-recommended value; the drill/slot geometry and main mechanical positions match, and the current copper pad appears usable.
  5. Courtyard is only about 0.25 mm beyond the body outline. This is probably acceptable as a nominal footprint courtyard, but application PCBs may need a larger mechanical keepout around the battery holder for cell insertion, removal, and tolerance.
Conclusion
The Flux part appears usable for MPD BK-18650-PC2. The critical footprint geometry matches the official datasheet: 72.90 mm terminal span, ~55.61 mm mounting-hole spacing, Ø3.20 mm mounting holes, 1.38 x 2.40 mm terminal slots, and 76.96 x 20.98 mm body outline. The remaining issues are metadata quality rather than manufacturing-blocking footprint errors.
