According to the SN74HC541 datasheet (Section 3: Description):
“SN74HC541 is a wide range CMOS device that can be used over large voltage ranges. The device can be used anywhere from 2 V to 6 V. The device can drive up to 6 mA of current at 5 V. This makes it perfect for driving bus lines directly or up to 15 LSTTL Loads. It can be used to drive anything from microcontrollers and system logic devices to LEDs.”

2. Key Functions & Operation
  • Eight Buffers: Inputs A1–A8 are non-inverting; outputs Y1–Y8 follow the inputs when enabled.
  • 3-State Control: Two enable pins, OE1 and OE2, gate outputs into three states:
    • Enabled (OE low): outputs drive inputs.
    • Disabled (OE high): outputs go high-impedance, allowing bus sharing.
  • Drive Capability: ±6 mA per output at VCC=5 V.
