I’m blocked from making project changes right now because execution credits are unavailable, so I did not add components, wire the schematic, run review, or create layout.
Recommended design direction when credits are restored:
MCU/radio: ESP32-C6 or ESP32-S3 class module for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi + BLE 5.x, preferably certified module with integrated antenna for consumer use.
Sensor: low-power digital temperature/RH sensor over I²C, e.g. Sensirion SHT4x/SHTC3-class device.
Power input: USB-C receptacle configured as 5 V sink with CC1/CC2 Rd resistors for default USB-C current advertisement.
Protection path: USB VBUS → fuse/eFuse/load switch with OVP, UVLO, OCP, reverse-current blocking → 3.3 V regulator sized from a full power budget.
Power plan: support 0.5–3 A USB-C sources, but actual node current will be far lower; protection and traces should be rated safely for the allowed source capability.
Required next work: calculate power budget, select exact protected power-path IC and 3.3 V regulator from datasheets, add USB-C connector/protection/regulator/MCU/sensor/passives, wire per datasheet reference circuits, add decoupling/pull-ups/boot straps, run schematic review, then proceed to PCB layout after your confirmation.
