Cada etapa requiere multiplexores 2:1 que operen sobre grupos de 4 bits. Para cubrir 8 bits, se pueden emplear 2 multiplexores de 4 canales por etapa.
Se recomienda usar el chip 74HC157BQ,115, un multiplexor cuádruple 2:1 (cada uno con 4 canales) de Nexperia.
En consecuencia, para las 3 etapas (para lograr desplazamientos de 1, 2 y 4 bits) se utilizarán 2 chips por etapa, lo que da un total de 6 chips.
