The PESD1CAN is a bidirectional TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diode designed to protect automotive CAN bus communication lines from damage caused by ESD (electrostatic discharge), surge, and electrical fast transients.
It uses silicon avalanche technology in a compact SOT-23 surface-mount package, allowing protection of two CAN signal lines with a single device. The diode is optimized for high-speed and fault-tolerant CAN networks commonly used in automotive and industrial systems.
ESD protection up to ±30 kV (IEC 61000-4-2, air/contact)
Peak pulse power: 200 W (8/20 µs waveform)
Bidirectional protection for CAN_H and CAN_L lines
Low clamping voltage for better signal protection
Ultra-low leakage current (<1 µA typical)
Low junction capacitance (~12–15 pF) for high-speed CAN signals
Matched diode capacitance (very low mismatch ~0.1%) for signal integrity
Small SOT-23 package (3-pin SMD)
Complies with IEC 61000-4-2, -4-4, and -4-5 surge standards
