3D Model Alignment

Align the 3D model so it matches the footprint pads and mounting holes. Adjust Position if needed.
I’ll check the model against the footprint pads and mounting holes, adjust its alignment, then verify the fit in 3D.

"3D Model Alignment Verification" completed.
Adjusted model Position to (−0.005, −6.060, −0.055) mm, leaving the footprint unchanged. Exact alignment remains limited by geometry differences: mounting span differs by 0.10 mm and row spacing by 0.08 mm; board seating is not fully verified. See alignment verification—an authoritative mechanical drawing is needed before changing either geometry.
"Model Alignment Verification" completed.
Verification confirms the Position adjustment is applied. A perfect match cannot be achieved by Position alone because the model and footprint geometry differ; no pads or mounting holes were changed.

3D Alignment Verification
Outcome
Completed: measured the existing package, applied a Position-only nominal alignment, verified read-back and reviewed isometric, bottom and side 3D views. Failed exact-fit gate: the existing model and existing footprint have different mounting spans and row separations; no rigid transform makes all four centers coincide. No model distortion or footprint modification was made. Overall exact-fit completion is therefore blocked by the existing geometry discrepancy, not by positioning alone.
Preserved asset and transform
  • Model node: ROOT.Model, parent ROOT (unchanged).
  • Asset UID: 60f0f3b9-8f3d-4e22-8327-6e067830f0b6.
  • 3D Model

    remains unchanged.
  • Original Position, mm: (0, -6.0639, +0.0628).
  • Final Position, mm: (-0.005, -6.06, -0.055).
  • Rotation remains (0, 0, 0) degrees; scale remains (1, 1, 1); Z-up remains true.
  • Translation delta, mm: (-0.005, +0.0039, -0.1178).
  • Diff against commit 436cba57 confirms Position on ROOT.Model is the sole design change; schematic, BOM, footprint pads/holes, and asset are unchanged.
Sources and coordinate frame
Facts below come from native CAD measurement/sections of the linked existing STEP and read-back of the existing footprint asset and computed pad coordinates in this project, not from a new manufacturer dimensional certification. All dimensions are mm. The footprint's embedded KiCad Y coordinates are negated in the computed Flux frame. No mating plug geometry or electrical properties were changed.
The source model is Z-up. Its front opening faces negative Y; electrical terminals are on the positive-Y/rear side. The footprint and model remain on Top with no rotation. The measured flat shell/body seating faces are at source Z=0.055; translating by -0.055 puts this datum at local board seating Z=0. Through-hole leads intentionally extend below that plane.

Translation centers the mounting-tab pair on the hole-pair midpoint (-0.005,-1.850), prioritizing the narrower mechanical slots. Original alignment was already close in XY; the principal correction is the 0.1178 mm downward seating adjustment.
At source sections Z=-0.5 and -1.0, each electrical lead is a 0.600 × 0.150 rectangle; each mounting tab is a 0.300 × 1.000 rectangle. Electrical drill slots are approximately 1.000 × 0.450 in world XY; mounting drill slots approximately 0.500 × 1.100. Electrical leads fit within the nominal slot envelopes at the final translation. Mounting tabs overlap the intended pads and holes visually, but their rectangular corners do not fully fit the nominal rounded slot geometry: with 0.050 transverse center offset, a tab corner is about sqrt(0.200²+0.200²)-0.250 = 0.033 mm outside the nominal semicircular end. This is a model/footprint discrepancy, not a certified physical manufacturing failure; actual tolerances, stamping edge radii and a manufacturer drawing have not been established. Do not claim manufacturing fit from this alignment.
Verification and limitations
  • Completed — scale: native measurement reports valid STEP geometry, 15 solids; dimensions and 1:1 scale preserved.
  • Completed — terminal-to-pad nominal fit: computed coordinates and bottom view show both electrical leads in their intended slots; the negative-X lead remains at VCC/pad 1. The symmetric model alone cannot independently certify electrical polarity.
  • Failed — exact mounting-tab/hole congruence: residuals and rounded-slot corner discrepancy above remain. Resolving this requires an authoritative dimensional drawing or corrected source asset/footprint, outside the permitted Position/Rotation-only scope.
  • Completed analytically / limited visually — seating: source seating plane plus saved Position yields Z=0. However, the native part-preview render shows an apparent extra vertical gap and cannot be treated as reliable seating metrology: its generated scene reports board substrateThickness: 0, while the footprint tree reports 1.4986 mm substrate, and the generated board GLB contains inconsistent positive-height substrate geometry. No arbitrary Z compensation was introduced to hide that preview discrepancy. Check the model in an actual board instance/browser before considering visual seating independently confirmed.
  • Completed — scope audit: read-only project diff shows no electrical, footprint, scale, rotation or asset changes.
  • Automatic post-mutation DRC returned NOT CHECKED for its listed checks, so no DRC pass is claimed. Read-back, measured geometry and 3D review are the evidence for this scoped operation.
  • Unattempted by design: pad/hole resizing, source/model editing, asset replacement, scaling, electrical changes and publishing.
