Reading docs about How can a user fix an Auto-Layout review warning in Flux when two pads from different nets overlap, specifically R3:P2 and U1:PD1 overlap with copper from another net and cannot be routed by Auto-Layout? Include the practical Flux steps to inspect the overlap and what manual changes the user can make in the layout to resolve it..

Considering citation practices.

This warning means the copper around R3:P2 and U1:PD1 is physically colliding with copper from a different net, so Auto-Layout has no legal path there. Auto-Layout issues like this are exactly the kind of layout problem you diagnose with the review + layout inspection flow
What I found:
  • The Auto-Layout review has 5 similar warnings, not just this one.
  • Your layout is set to 2-layer, 120 mm x 70 mm, with 0.5 mm trace width and 0.3 mm keep out, so routing space is already fairly tight.
  • I can’t fix this placement/footprint overlap for you automatically - this needs manual layout editing.
What to do in Flux:
  • Open the warning and zoom to R3:P2 and U1:PD1.
  • In PCB view, inspect whether:
    • the two pads are too close,
    • an existing trace is running through the escape path,
    • or a pad/trace from another net is blocking the route channel.
  • Then manually make one of these changes:
    • move R3 farther from U1,
    • rotate R3 to open a cleaner escape direction,
    • or delete/reroute the conflicting trace near those pads.
The Flux docs result I found says DRCs cover issues like overlapping copper and unrouted nets:
“Flux’s layout rules do a great job of eliminating unnecessary mistakes, but certain types of violations require additional checking. Such violations include overlapping traces, unrouted nets, missing footprints, etc.
In Flux, DRCs run in real-time, and their results can be accessed from the messages menu.”

To and Fro Memory Robot thumbnail
Competition PCB for a to and fro memory robot using through-hole components only. Target layout is maximum 120 mm x 70 mm, 2-layer maximum with top-layer routing only, 0.5 mm trace width minimum design intent, 0.3 mm clearance minimum, restricted solder mask outside the board center, and manufacturing freeze before 15 April 2026. Planned architecture uses a simple 5 V control and drive system with sensor inputs, memory/control logic, motor-driver stage, user controls, and edge-access debug/test points.
