Here’s a solid default decoupling scheme you can use at the power-entry pins for each rail. Tweak per the specific IC/regulator datasheets and your load transients.

5 V rail
- At each pin group: 1x 100nF 0402 capacitor as close as possible (<2 mm), plus 1x 1uF 0402 capacitor.
- Local bulk near the connector/pin cluster: 1–2x 10uF 0603 Capacitor (use multiple in parallel if the rail is noisy or feeds step loads). If you need larger bulk later, you can swap one for a higher value using Generic Capacitor.

3.3 V rail
- At each pin group: 1x 100nF 0402 capacitor.
- Add 1x 1uF 0402 capacitor per 2–3 power pins or per local consumer cluster.
- Local bulk near entry to the board/connector: 1x 10uF 0603 Capacitor.

1.8 V rail
- At each pin group: 1x 100nF 0402 capacitor.
- Add 1x 1uF 0402 capacitor per cluster of consumers.
- Local bulk near entry: 1x 10uF 0603 Capacitor.
Placement and part guidance
- Put the 100 nF cap first in the path (short, wide trace to the pin), one short via to the ground plane next to the cap pad. Keep loop area tiny.
- Use X5R/X7R ceramics. Consider DC-bias: for better effective capacitance, prefer a higher voltage rating and, for bulk values, a larger case (e.g., 0603 over 0402).
- Suggested voltage ratings:
- 5 V rail: choose ≥10 V (often 16 V for margin).
- 3.3 V and 1.8 V rails: ≥6.3 V (10 V if space allows).
