Defined and saved the USB-C to SATA system architecture in the project metadata and documented the overall design target in the project description.
Added the core front-end hardware already available in the library: J1, U2, U3, U4, U5, Y1, J2, R1 to R4, C1 to C10, D1, D2, and TP1 to TP5.
Chose concrete production-friendly support parts already in the library: USB-C receptacle, SATA connector, USB e-fuse, USB SuperSpeed ESD array, 3.3 V and 1.8 V LDOs, 25 MHz crystal, LEDs, and test points.
Reported missing library coverage for the required USB-to-SATA bridge family so it can be added in the future.
Success criteria review
❌ Complete production-ready schematic not finished. The required USB-to-SATA bridge IC was not available as a usable library component, so the central bridge block could not be placed and wired.
❌ Detailed BOM with bridge alternatives not fully completed for the same reason.
✅ Architecture, supporting circuitry, recommended passives, protection strategy, LEDs, and test-point plan were established.
✅ Layout-direction intent was established at the project-description level for compact, stable, low-EMI portable use.
Next steps
The remaining blocker is the missing USB-to-SATA bridge component in the library. If you want, I can continue immediately by using a specific uploaded reference file or datasheet to finish the design around a placeholder bridge pinout, or complete the PCB/layout notes and BOM documentation while waiting for the bridge part to be added.
Wirelessly connects nets on schematic. Used to organize schematics and separate functional blocks. To wirelessly connect net portals, give them same designator. #portal
