-
Initialize the Project:
- Create a new project in Flux if you haven't already.
- Import the AFE3010AIRGTR and other necessary components into your project.
-
Place Components:
- Place the AFE3010 IC on your schematic.
- Add terminals and connectors for your other designators (e.g., ALARM, GND_1, VDD1).
Making Connections Power Connections-
Power Supply:
- Connect VDD1 to the power supply's positive terminal.
- Connect GND1 and GND2 to the power supply's ground terminal.
-
Secondary Power:
- Connect VDD2 if it's used for separate power requirements in your design.
-
Exposed Pad:
- Connect EP to GND for better thermal dissipation.
Connections for Functional Pins-
Alarm Output:
- Connect ALARM to the input of an external alarm or indicator circuit.
-
Selection Pin:
- Connect SEL to configure the device settings according to the datasheet.
-
Fault/Tamper Indicator:
- Connect FT to an external pull-up resistor or microcontroller input pin to monitor fault conditions.
-
Feedback Pin:
- Connect FB according to the recommendations in the datasheet for the feedback mechanism.
-
Reference Voltage:
- Connect REF to a precision voltage reference if required.
-
Push-to-Test and Switch Open:
- Connect ∼PTT and ∼SW_OPEN according to the testing and open-switch requirements.
-
Phase Connection:
- Connect PH to the live line of the load.
-
Output Pin:
- Connect OUT to the output load.
-
SCR and SCR Test Pins:
- Connect SCR and SCR_TST according to the SCR configuration and testing circuit recommendations.
-
Neutral to Ground Output:
- Connect NG_OUT to the line that indicates neutral to ground fault.
Example Connections- Connect the power supply:
- Connect VDD1:Pin 2 to Power Supply Positive.
- Connect GND1:Pin 4 to Power Supply Ground.
