Implementation Status — Industrial Welding IoT Controller
Updated: 2026-05-08
Latest ERC/DRC remediation pass
A fresh ERC/DRC review was fetched from the current project state after targeted placement cleanup. The remaining active findings are layout-related only:
- Airwires: 5 active errors.
- Dangling traces: 6 active warnings.
- Floating copper: 3 active errors.
- Overlapping copper: 131 active errors.
- Missing footprints / invalid layers / selected schematic ERC categories: no active error or warning findings were returned in the filtered review set.
Targeted actions completed
- Re-ran the current ERC/DRC review from the latest project state.
- Preserved the existing controller architecture and avoided schematic redesign.
- Ran a targeted component placement remediation pass rather than full board redesign.
- Adjusted J3, J6, J14, C8, C9, and R2 to improve board-edge spacing and keep components inside the intended mechanical envelope.
- Confirmed the board remains a 160 mm × 100 mm, 6-layer layout with the original industrial controller zoning intent preserved.
Current blocker
The remaining active findings are stale/conflicting routed copper, floating copper islands, dangling trace segments, and unrouted airwires. Correctly clearing those requires PCB trace cleanup/deletion and re-routing of affected nets. The current execution environment does not expose the necessary trace-removal or routing controls, so these remaining layout errors cannot be fully cleared here without manual PCB routing cleanup or access to routing/removal operations.
Manufacturing readiness
Status: Not manufacturing-ready yet. The schematic architecture and PCB placement intent are preserved, and component-level/schematic review categories checked clean, but fabrication export should wait until the remaining copper overlaps, floating copper, dangling traces, and airwires are cleared and DRC is re-run clean.
Recommended next manual/EDA actions
- Delete or clean the stale dangling/floating trace segments identified by the latest review.
- Re-route the remaining airwires using the existing 6-layer stackup.
- Re-run DRC for overlapping copper, floating copper, dangling traces, and airwires.
- Proceed to Gerber/BOM/pick-and-place export only after those checks are clean.
