Choose an LED: If you don't have an LED in your project already, you might consider adding one. Since you have a place for a power indication with the designator PWR, you can use it for this purpose.
-
Current-Limiting Resistor Calculation:
-
Assume a typical LED forward voltage of 2V and forward current of 20mA.
-
The resistor value can be calculated using Ohm's Law:
R=ILEDVsource−VLED
-
For a 12V source:
R=0.020A12V−2V=500Ω
-
You can use a standard resistor value of 470Ω or 560Ω.
-
Connections:
- Connect VCC12V to the anode (A) of the PWR LED.
- Connect the cathode (K) of the PWR LED to one end of a resistor. For this example, let's use a 560Ω resistor, assuming designator R10.
- Connect the other end of R10 to GND.
