Importing SparkFun Schematic

I’ll match the SparkFun MAX-M10S breakout’s board size and overall placement: first source the official board dimensions, then resize, place the edge connectors/mounting features, arrange the GNSS/RF and support blocks, and verify overlaps/board-edge issues.
Resized the PCB to the SparkFun reference dimensions—38.1 × 30.48 mm (1.5 × 1.2 in)—and re-placed all 34 PCB footprints in a similar compact arrangement.
  • U1 centered
  • SMA connector on the right edge
  • Signal header on the left
  • Serial header along the bottom
  • Qwiic connectors on the top/bottom-left
  • Backup battery upper-left
  • ANT1 upper-right
  • RF components clustered near U1’s RF input
  • Small passives moved to the bottom where necessary
  • ✅ No component overlaps or pads outside the board
Open items:
  • The layout is dense because ANT1 and several additional parts are not present on the original SparkFun board.
  • J5’s body intentionally overhangs the left edge slightly.
  • The four SparkFun-style mounting holes have not been added.
Suggested next steps:
  1. Add four 3.3 mm mounting holes at the SparkFun locations.
  2. Add ANT1’s copper/component keepout.
  3. Route the RF path first, followed by power and digital signals.

Import Notes — SparkFun u-blox GNSS MAX-M10S
Imported scope
Recreated the SparkFun u-blox GNSS MAX-M10S rev V10 schematic netlist in Flux:
  • U1: u-blox MAX-M10S GNSS module
  • RF antenna path: SMA edge connector, RF ESD diode, bias tee bead/resistor/capacitor
  • Qwiic/I²C connectors and optional pull-up jumper
  • UART/control breakout headers
  • Backup battery/charge path
  • PWR and PPS LEDs with disable jumpers
  • MEAS jumper in the FTDI/header 3.3 V feed path
U1 pin-map correction
U1 was remapped/replaced with a corrected local part, MAX-M10S-00B SparkFun Pinmap, so the active U1 pin numbers now match the SparkFun/u-blox schematic:

The old imported library MAX-M10S instance was renamed U1_OLD, disconnected from signal nets, and excluded from BOM/PCB/Pick-and-Place because the remover tool hit a platform error. The active schematic component is U1.
Values and source notes
  • C1: 47 pF from the Eagle source extraction
  • C3: 1.0 uF
  • R14: 33 Ω from the Eagle source extraction
  • FB2: imported as 2.56 Ω from Eagle source extraction; PDF OCR also reported 2.66 Ω
  • D10: PESD0402-140 RF ESD diode; PDF OCR also referred to this as D1, while the Eagle source extraction identifies D10
  • I²C address note from schematic: 7-bit unshifted address 0x42
  • RF trace note from schematic: 2-layer, 1 oz copper, 1.6 mm board, Er 4.6, 6 mil polygon isolation, RF trace width 39.4 mil / 1.0 mm
Stand-ins / items to swap before exact PCB replication
  • B1 uses a small 2-terminal coin-cell retainer stand-in. Original SparkFun package is ML414H_IV01E / 6.8MM_COIN_CELL; swap to an exact part/footprint before layout if board-level mechanical compatibility matters.
  • D2 uses B5819WS as a close SOD-323 40 V Schottky stand-in for SparkFun's generic 0.5A/40V/420mV diode.
  • J1, J3, and J5 use equivalent pin headers rather than SparkFun Eagle library symbols/footprints.
Net mapping highlights
  • 3.3V: U1 VCC, Qwiic/header VCC, D2 anode, PWR jumper, JP5 source, MEAS output
  • VCC: J1 pin 4 side of the MEAS jumper
  • BACKUP: U1 V_BCKP, B1 positive, C3, R5 output
  • SDA / SCL: Qwiic and PTH I²C bus after 33 Ω series resistors
  • TXO / RXI: UART breakout and FTDI-style header side after 33 Ω series resistors
  • RF_ANT: U1 RF_IN, SMA signal, RF ESD diode, and bias tee bead
Intentional no-connects
  • J1 pins 1 and 5 (DTR/CTS positions)
  • J5 pin 2
